Now that it's almost done

so.............I am almost done reading The Time Traveler's Wife, like painfully close to being done, I was up until the wee hours reading it, enjoying it....and now...

now I am mad at myself for not pacing myself with the book, for being a selfish and voracious reader, for eating the very words that I am reading, consuming them as if they were sweet cake.

Needless to say the book is amazing, and I really need to issue a public apology to all the people who told me to read it, because at first, I thought it seemed really lame, like bad sci fi meets a Danielle Steel novel.

It is none of those things....I found myself with big silent tears one night as I was reading, as the beautiful wife (Clare) was being described, she is an artist and the description of what it was like for her husband to come home after she had been working in her head all day was spot on perfect. He spoke of the fact that he felt as if he was interrupting, how she seemed almost annoyed that he was there.

Then I got overwhelmed with a feeling of guilt, and wondered if my bubs ever felt like that when he walks in the in my solitary world all making things, me with the only sound coming from our apartment is the sound of the click clack of me typing, and on occasion there is music played.

I don't think I make him feel like he is interrupting me, as it is usually the case that he walks in the door and I am so excited to finally have a "real reason" to use my voice that I just can't shut up when I see him...poor guy.

So may be wondering what the image is that I am showing today, well it is my entry in the etsy poster challenge, which is a contest they are doing on the site. They are looking to make promotional limited edition prints of 20 winning designs, and that is my entry.

I was trying in my way to tell a very specific story, though I did feel as though I was telling a novel's worth of story in a space of a sonnet.

anyway, please click the image above to see a full view of it.

until tomorrow

Monday Randomness

**idea stolen from my friend Weird Aaron

so this weekend we had the mean cheese, so now I am left so tired...I have no idea how my bubs does it, hauls out of bed in the morning and heads to work, I just grumble and start swatting at the alarm and think to myself that there is no way I have it in me to blog today....but then I think....then I remember, that while out on adventures this weekend (aka trying to make the mean cheese tired) we saw these.

um, holy hell...Rap Snacks. That is the most wonderful thing I have ever seen, immediately I wanted them, was more than that, I wanted to have a party in our new house, and serve them, so as my bubs said "show people how we 'roll'".

Since I was not really sure what that meant...I nodded in agreement and for the next 24 hours would randomly mumble..."rap snacks"

Saturday my bubs gave me an early birthday present after I pestered him for about an hour and then "almost broke my fool neck" (his words not mine) climbing into our secret "present box" to see if it was there.

In lieu of me actually breaking my neck, my bubs climbed up and pulled out of the box...a dvd of..."The Notebook".

yes, it's corny, yes, it's a "chick flick" but I love it.

I read the book during the middle years of my bad first marriage, and sobbed, and immediately thought of my bubs, my first love, the real powerful and passionate love that never went away.

THAT is why I like that movie, and the much of it rings true in an overly dramatic sepia tinged kind of way...right down to the tearful fight fight and her saying "why didn't you write, Iw aited for you for seven years"...

just as I type this it is almost too much for me.

My bubs at first could not understand why I wasnted to own the movie, as when we finally saw it together, there was no consoling me...I was a wreck.

he is a logical man and cannot understand why I would want to watch a movie that makes me sob, makes me ache.

needless to say I watched it Saturday morning when we had the mean cheese and bubs was at work, I cried, a lot, but managed to not have a full on fit. The cheese watched it with me as I held her captive by doing her hair in these elaborate Grecian twists and ballerina up-dos...

though at the end the cheese looked at me, and I had tears streaming down my face....she unable to hear or really comprehend what I was going on about just gave me a look, and that look basically said "and people think I'm special needs....what's your excuse"

so that dear ones was my weekend, rap snacks and the notebook...ying and yang.

oh and we watched "Shark Mountain on PBS last night and it was beautiful, though I did get to see sharks having sex which was awful and a poor dumb slut at a frat party.

ok, must dash off now as monday's I tend to work from about 9:00am until much to do.

image today is actually a small change bank and it is up for sale in my shop, it is called
"A Disturbance in Mirrors"

also please make sure to read yesterday's "Petite Heights"

On a dark and rainy Thursday...

oh I very droll, I have a title that discusses the weather...are you wondering if I have run out of things to say...

well the answer dear ones

It is just one of those sleep in days, you's rainy, and very dark frankly it still looks like night and there are no hopes of seeing any sunlight today.

It looks like Mordor (little shout out to all those Lord Of the Rings Fans out there....our "Ringers" in geek lingo).

OK so this is what is going on in my head, I am thinking I should not work today, as it is too dark, bad light equals bad art, right?

I should very well spend the day reading "The Time Traveler's Wife" (which is beyon words good) and watching my movie bubs in "The Village".

right? That is what I should be doing, at the very least maybe start packing up my book cases before the mean cheese arrives tomorrow.

I was going to do a fantastic Zine review today, but I am thinking I will do that next week sometime.

right now....crazy mid west weather is pounding down on us, and the thunder is rolling in, strange as it has been cool here the pas few days, but this air, this sky, this very moment in time is down right tropical.

Oh....and before I forget.....Happy Birthday Karen Beth!!!!!

(throws imaginary confetti in the air and blows one of those annoying birthday party my brain it's Transformers themed)

please, please, go on over to her blog, or her etsy shop and shower her with birthday wishes!!!

Love you Karen Beth!!!

ok, now thunder is beginning to roll in....and I am getting off the computer before we lose power.

The piece today is up in my etsy shop!! It's called "Now I break Into Pieces"

don;t forget my sale, Just write summer07 and wait for an invoice, receive 20% off items in my shop and 30% off sale items.

Dear (Insert Name Here)

***jody....I am really expecting a letter to Promises Rehab facility from you today....also I left La Lohan alone, in hopes to read a good letters to "the linds"today)

Dear Kevin Federline

how is it even possible, seriously...that you are the least trashy thing in celeb news in the past few days...seriously???

First, in all seriousness, good luck in the custody fight, I really hope you can get you two kids away from the trailer park unfit mom that B. Spears has turned into.

Now, let's get to the nitty gritty, Brit was always kind of trashy in that dumb slutty kind of way...that is not being argued, but when exactly did she turn into a total wing nut psycho path???

My theory on this one is not the common one of post baby depression...but sadly the blame falls on you Kevin (in a good way) thing I have known in my life is that white trash girls easily become swayed by fast car driving thug fact they go crazy for's like cat nip. They see a cheesy Trans Am, Camero, or some sort of Mustang and just like that...little Sally dumb ass turns into a complete and total trash whore.

My theory is that Brit became so out of her mind hot for you...that once you were gone...she went nuts...

can this be true Kevin? Are you that good in bed???

You must be, as on last rumor patrol stories were spreading that your ex actually picked up dog poo by using a Chanel Dress, and wiped grease from fried chicken (yeah this is why she never got her good bod back) on a Gucci Dress, these crimes SHOULD be punishable by de-handing.

My advice to you...try your harder to keep ripping off the whole Justin Timberlake look that you have right now, and try to do some sort of "help the needy" thing like my favorite power couple The Pitt-Jolie's.

your friend
Jennifer Gordon

Tuesday's Top Five!!!

**Idea stolen from Alex...though I better watch out, now that she isa big author going to book signings and the like....she may sue.

1- Naps - lately my bubs and I have become quite obsessed with napping, in fact...we have been doing it almost every day...yes, you are all thinking shouldn't you two be packing...well yes, but napping is where it is at for me right now. I think part of the reason I love napping is the nap dreams you have, usually so much more vibrant and odd than normal sleep dreams.

Like the other day I actually had a dream that I was Batgirl and my bubs was Nightwing (for those of you who are not geeks, Nightwing is the original Robin all grown up...he's sort of a womanizing hottie, but I have an absurd crush on him anyway....and yes, I know he's not real.)

I have to say the Batgirl/Nightwing dream now replaces the dream I had when I was very little that I got to host the Muppet Show with Harrison Ford....which had remained my #1 best dream ever until this week.

2- Nancy Drew....yes, the obsession continues, I have been re-reading the Nancy Drew books in between the "real" books I read, and though they are formulaic and vanilla...there is something overwhelmingly comforting about reading them again, plus I love that every time Nancy is in a stressful situation she eats a wonderful snack or a big old meal....Heym Nancy....we have that in common, stressful situation...head to the cookies.

3- Anything French....yes, I am learning the Language (or trying to a little bit at this point), but it is more than that...and it is creeping into all aspects of my life...Marie Antoinette obsession...yup, got that, love the movie, reading the books, and what is in my cd palyer at this exact moment???

Well, that would be the soundtrack to Les Miserables...which I have been listening to when I work, though I swear when I get to "On My Own" on disc 2...I have to stop working every the tears just roll down my face as I sing, and I think to myself "I am so much like Eponine"

4- My New House....yeah, you knew this was coming...there is not much else to say about our new little place...what I have become very excited about is being able to really explore and take advantage of the little uptown portion of the city, with it's bookstores and antique shops..I fear I may become one of those people who very rarely leave there own neighborhood.

5- Bad Celebrity Gossip....seriously bad gossip gives me so much joy, it's trashy and mindless yes...but I love it. Now, I don't watch much tv, rarely listen to new music, and don't get out to the movies that my main info about these trash tarts comes from Access Hollywood and Perez Hilton, but it just brings me joy, not enough joy to like buy a copy of Us Weekly, Ok, or some other rag....but if the gossip is free...then I am all about it!

**well that wraps up the top 5 today....I am off to do some work...I am working on a 4 piece commission right now, and 2 pieces are already 100% done and approved, I am 65% done the 3rd piece and will begin on the 4th later tonight or tomorrow....sigh.

also........though I know she does not read le blog I just want to give a big shout out to my Mommy, as it is her birthday today!!

Joyeux Anniversaire maman!!!

***please enjoy pretty pictures as well, these pieces are all available in my shop (write Summer07 in the message and receive 20% off)

So Much...Just so, so much

wow...I fear this will be epic, or maybe not...but I feel like this morning I have a lot say so please don't judge me too harshly if I switch up subjects like crazy, crazy, crazy...

  • Thank you to everyone that read the first ever Petite Heights Sunday strip....there are loads more to come, and we are hoping that perhaps sometime after Fall and Winter that Petite Heights might be come a daily strip. If you missed the comic you can read it here or here.
  • Petite Heights Contest............that's right you heard it here bubs and I need a Petite Heights logo, we also need a nice little graphic for the credits. So, this is what I am asking...I want one of you to design it, it does not have to be fancy, it could even just be a wonderful typeset. The winner will become a character in the comic (well you as a child) and will be featured in one of the upcoming holiday strips, you get to pick the holiday!! You will also get to keep the original comic art as well!! How cool is that??? Well, I think it's pretty cool. I know most of you are pretty creative so get to creating. I will give you until next Monday...if you have any questions let me know.
  • The new our stalker rounds this weekend we drove by the house again to chat with the landlords who are gutting and redoing the place...not only in the front porch and front of the house re-painted....but, there is going to be a porch swing installed....OMG!!! Can you believe it,I can see me know, sipping whiskey drinks and sitting on the swing, a little piece of heaven attached to my house.
  • During our weekend adventures we ended up at the used book store a block from the new house, and I treated myself to a couple new books, one being....(drum roll please) The Time Traveler's Wife, which I know so many of you have told me I need to read, well, it was there staring me in the face, and I bought it. I was up a bit late last night reading too, and it is wonderful. Also purchased at the bookstore was French in 10 Minutes A Day, I would really love to be able to speak French, I took it in school when I was little and hated it, but lately it has become important to me to learn it. Maybe it is because I am getting older, and I am thinking about my heritage, and my Mom, and the fact that she spoke French the majority of my life and hers...she now speaks only English, but growing up when she and her friends would talk it was always in French...and it was always a mystery.
  • Yesterday we went to a comic show in the morning where I got a few dreadful old Gothic romance paperbacks...basically I got them because the covers were ridiculous and beautiful at the same time....and I could not resist, picture women with beautiful long hair, and crazy old houses (always up on a hill) and dark and moody skies...perfection.
So, as you can see...I have been busy, though as you can also see....I have not mentioned packing, oh that's right, I have not been packing at all (that is a lie, I packed my purses and shoes the other night), so I still have a lot, a whole lot to do...but I work well under pressure so I am not really going to sweat it, not yet.

So, how were your weekends....has everyone been busy reading Harry Potter??? Nothing against the little wizard but I never got into the books, again I blame my no good ex husband for that (he was obsessed) also the fact that a comic by the name of Books of Magic which came out years before anything Harry Potter related, does have quite a similar character set up, and Harry looks just like the lead character in those comics, and they were HUGE in England as they were written by Neil Gaiman....but I digress, I have nothing against Harry Potter, but I would like it if someone...ANYONE would send me an email and tell me if Hermione and Ron end up "getting together" at the end....seriously, are they, are they's all I care about.

one last announcement kind of thing before I bid you a very fond adieu (FRENCH!!)

Don't forget the sale I am having in my etsy shop, 30% off Sale Items and 20% off the rest of my" shop, please write "SUMMER07" in the message to seller section and I will send you a new invoice!!

until then....enjoy some of the new pieces I have done.

Petite Heights, Sunday July 22 2007

art - Keith Cousineu
written by - Keith Cousineau & Jennifer Gordon
characters created by Jennifer Gordon

Welcome one and all to a very special Stiletto Heights blog post...every Sunday Stiletto Heights will now bring you a new "Petite Heights" comic strip, written by Jennifer of Stiletto Heights fame (and infamy) with scribbles and associated art by me, Keith Cousineau.

This is a true labor of love for Jenn and I, and we hope you laugh as hard as we did while creating the mis-adventures of Petite Jack and all her friends.

Please bear with me art wise. I myself am a writer who liked to scribble, who is now saddled with the art chores of Jenn's comic strip baby. Armed with pencils and markers, I am far from the caliber of cartoonist Jenn's "unique" humor rightly deserves, but Jenn is super supportive and her critique as well as cheers have given me the resolve and patience to just sit at the table and produce a new page, a stressful yet positive experience.

So all that said...saddle up, we're going for a ride.

Keith (aka Jenn's Bubs, or the bubs...or just bubs)

(Petite Heights also has it's own blog...stay tuned for contest info coming on Monday)

Sorry I have been such a lazy bones

really I am very sorry for the lazy factor yesterday...but you see, Wednesday night instead of going to the Treehouse for drinks, we instead went to a grease ball diner to have a prolonged and long overdue visit with our friend Nick....

well before we knew it, midnight was on us...and you see for us (my bubs and I) that is pretty late...we're old people you see. So of course after calling it a night I was home curled up in bed reading Nancy Drew The Mystery of the Hidden Staircase...and then I ended up being awake for quite some time.

So I was sleepy yesterday and had a lazy post.

So many of you are assuming probably that I have kept myself busy with preparing for the move and all, well that dear sweet friends is where you are wrong...I have not prepared, unless of course you count preparing as me day-dreaming about where I am going to put things in the new house....and thinking of my nice big new studio space on the second floor, the the room that overlooks the street with a view of the Starbucks, and several "bread" themed eateries.

So actual packing, though I did send out my (again lazy) e mail news letter which I have not done since April, and did announce a special sale in my shop.

The sale is being had for 2 wonderful reasons...

one being, it will be less stuff for me to pack, and two, well to be honest, money....moving is expensive.

So last night my bubs and I went ti the old shop so he could give his guitar lesson and I could chat it up with my friend Diana...after all was done we decided to take them to our new place...sure we don't have the keys but this way they could see it.

I was amazed, our new house is now being painted on the outside...the front porch and door area that seemed dingy and run down before, it now wonderful and new looking!!!!

Also there is a little walkway running from the back yard to the front.

It is even more wonderful than I imagined....and because I am a snoop....I climbed and peaked over our fence into one of the neighbors yards...and it was wonderful, it had a gazebo, little chairs, two little fountains, lots of lush greenery and wind chimes and a wall of all different birdhouses!!!

So much different than our neighbors house now, which is filled with naked barbie dolls, dog poo, cigarette butts, and empty beer cans...

how's like I live next to Brittany Spears.

So, we went to the house and of course I did not have my camera as it was a spur of the moment thing.

Le sigh...(totally stole that from you Karen Beth)

So, maybe sometime this week I will go back with the camera. I briefly mentioned that I sent out a mailing, and for those of you not on my mailing list this is what it said....

Now through August 20th (my birthday) I am hving a special sale...that is 20% off all items in my shop, and 30% off the items in my sale section, this is just for people on my mailing list and my blog readers....because you know, I love to play favorites.

So all you have to do is write SUMMER07 in the message to buyer and wait for a new invoice.

SO did any of you watch the Posh Spice special, they aired it again last night.

I was in the other room working on stuff when my bubs sort of burst in like a wild man and said "your Posh is on the tv, I was trying to watch The Office and there she was, she's weird looking"

me: (all excited) she is not weird looking...and she's on the tv, right now???

then I sort of bumbled out of the room, plopped myself in front of the tv and watched the whole thing again....I hope they release it on dvd sometime, with extras....I love it that much (yes, it's dad an pathetic, I know).

The pieces I am showing today are new ones in my shop, the blue one is called "Her Ghost Lingered Still", and the other is "The Crows"

ok, one last thing and then I'm off....this Sunday (please start drum roll) my very first online web comic will be posted, it will be posted right here on my blog (note this might end up just on my blogger blog, unless I can figure out how to post it on myspace and have it not stretch out the page to a ridiculous amount.) in the look out on Sunday...

ciao for now loves

Dear (Insert Name Here) - Letters FROM celebrities!!!

(yes, we're changing it up, thanks to inspiration from jody, so....get to thinking, which celebrity are you)

Dear Jennifer Gordon

so, you think just because you saw me on tv and decided to love me again that we're cool...well we're not.

You called me a "manorexic tranny"....and I don;t even know what that is or how it's possible, all I know is that it's're a mean girl.

I'm what, I'm a very busy person so I have little time to eat...I have things to buy, manicures to get, parties to go to...and hello, have you seen my husband...I have to have sex with him almost constantly, plus let's not forget who is going back on tour with the Spice Girls...that would be me...

I have a hard life, and I am just one understands how hard it is to be "Posh Spice", I mean all of you out there in the real world with your real're all just "season salt spice" compared to me.

I'm sorry...where am I going with this....oh I don't know I've had a lot to drink and I have not eaten anything since early you can only imagine how the champagne is affecting me.

Though I will say this to you Miss Gordon....with a screen name like "stilettoheights" you sort of won me seem like a girl who knows inside it's like we're sisters.

sorry again, the champagne is talking....ow wait my husband is here, I have to go have sex with him now.

your enemy, or best friend...I have not made up my mind

so tired

oooooooooooooohhhhhhhh I am sleepy today, seriously sleepy.

Yesterday I did a marathon pf creating, I finished 8 collages as well as worked on a commission that should be done today...I think just the thought of moving soon gave me so much added energy and drive...I can't wait to be settled into the new place and begin a new phase of our life.

my bubs and I are really so happy, you see we have been longing for a fresh start, in new place that is not tied to any bad see we have had so much struggle in our little apartment, don't get me wrong, there are millions of wonderful memories too, but it just feels like this place was tying us to the past, and the new house, well, that is our future....or at least our present!

I know, I know I am babbling....oh speaking of babbling

Did any of you see the Posh Spice comes to America special last night???? Well you can believe I did, man...I love her, my Posh Spice Adoration which had begun to fade is now back full force, and I am feeling guilty that I ever called her a "manorexic tranny" in my letters to celebs.

I really wish there was an entire tv station that was just devoted to Posh Spice being Posh...I would get cable for that, she is just that darling to me.

Oh, and before I forget...tomorrow we are going to write a letter FROM a there will be some theatrics and roll play going on....pretend you are a celeb and write to someone....

hmmm, will I pretend to be Posh????

So the picture today is of one of the pieces that I did during my long creative jam is available in my shop

also, don't forget I am having a "Moving Sale", which is 30% off all items in my sale section, just write "moving" in the message and wait for a new invoice.

have a wonderful Tuesday!!

Lots and Lots

Happy Monday Morning Campers!!

so, how was your weekend, mine felt like it was about 2542363 weekends rolled into one.

To start we had the mean cheese, who for some reason was wound very tight this weekend, one moment laughing and the next screaming and crying, and repeatedly signing "more" and then right after that she would sign "all done"

huh? what mean cheese???

So needless to say we were sleepy, oh and she would not go to bed until 11:00 every night.

So then Saturday my bubs had to work in the morning and then that night a dear friend was having a surprise 40th birthday we were going to do between moring and night we had a visit from our landlord as he was planning on getting us new windows and a new door...I regaled him with stories of the "flailing cock" incident and he also was telling me things as well.

Then my bubs came home, and our landlord asked if we ever though of getting a place with more space, and that he had a house for rent a couple miles a better neighborhood.

He said we could stop by and look at it, it has a huge yard...blah, blah, when he said the price...well it was and is a lot more than what we are paying now but we figured we would go and look.

when we get there we notice that it seems awfully big from the outside....and a little run down as well, but we look anyway....once inside we realize that it's amazing....

it's over 90 years old, it has an adorable kitchen, a sun porch facing the backyard, a porch in the front yard, hard wood floors in the dining room and living room, 3 bedrooms and 1 1/5 baths...

and just like that, we were in love....

So, on the weekend that marked the 2 week incident of the "flailing cock" we celebrated by renting a house some place else...

You heard it right, a house....the best is just a block away from a Starbucks and a used bookstore, there are places to eat every where, and it's just several blocks from a wonderful, we will be living out of the ghetto an into the town that they based the movie "Heathers" on....

Now, we will be moving sometime after August 1st, probably in about 3 weeks to a month, and it will be the longest month in history.

So, I am warning you now....if I am not blogging quite as much or commenting on your blogs quite as much, well that is why, I have a house to move into...

I hate moving, but I do love decorating and I do love this cool new house...I will have to go back with a camera!!!

So, that being the case.....I am having a sale on my clearance items in my you will have to check it out!!!

Ok, with that I will have to cut it short as I do have a few commissions to work on well as things to package but I think I will wait for tonight so I can do that during the Posh Spice Comes To America special.

Can't wait!!!!!

The end result of a lot of swearing....

so yesterday ended up being a total cluster of a day and I got no packaging done as I realized I would not get to the PO until I totally procrastinated and decided to just make today a totally awful day filled with cleaning and preparing the house for the invasion of the mean cheese, and packaging.

well yesterday my poor bubs worked for like a jillion hours, I spent tons of time on etsy trying to straighten out a messy buying situation, which is steal not sorted out, but between it all I did two things, one being....drawing.

yes, the crazy illustration I am showing today is one of the pieces I was working on, in fact I was working on three pieces all in the same series, but only this one came out "right". In fact I sort of love it, love her face, love the circles, love her little mod hair idea was to do several versions of her with different patterns on her face, alas she is the only one deemed worthy so far. I am hoping to get a few more done so I can sell little print sets of her and her companions, but until then, she is available in my shop.

so if you hear a loud stream of loud swear words echoing through the will know that here in Fat-hio...I am trying to draw again.

the other things I did yesterday was to spend a great deal of time reading a wonderfully funny screenplay written by one of my oldest friends, (Weird) Aaron, he wrote it during June as part of Script Frenzy...and it is hilarious, and stars a group of his friends and very faithful blog readers...though he did take liberties with the characters, though all woth artistic intent.

SO all this being said...Aaron I am so proud of you for finishing it, and honestly....I think it's very good, better than Shaun of The Dead!!

ok, I have blogs to read, packages to package (by the way the packaging elf job I mentioned yesterday pays nothing....except the pleasure of my company, and perhaps I would also treat you to me singing some of the soundtrack from Les Miserables at the top of my lungs as well), and last but not least...pick up all the crap in the house and prepare for a weekend of mean cheesing.

when Thursdays feel like Mondays

hello darling ones

well yesterday was over in a flash and I did nothing that I "thought" I was going to do...just a lot of home time, then reading a lot of comics and prepping of some new art cards and a new canvas piece.

I am really loving making art cards again.....there was a time that I was just burnt out on them, but as of right now, I love them...I think it is helping that I am making them in a series....and though I do not list them as such, just knowing the story in my head of these pieces is really helping...

so much babble right off the bat...

sorry I am still half asleep.

So yesterday during letters to celebs of my most favorite co-horts left a comment with a great week will be "Letters FROM celebs"...yes that's's time to roll play, so get your thinking caps on now.

So yesterday as I said was a "day off", though we did not do much, I did get to go meet my wonderful friend Steve for a bit, and see some other friends at the same time...then bubs and I decided to go and have a Starbucks reality my bubs does not really care for Starbucks though I was whining all day that I NEEDED a "tall, skinny, iced, white chocolate mocha" he finally relented.

So before we hit Satrbucks we went to Barnes and I could look at the magazines (I know, like I need any more magazines. But when I was there, I new favorite magazine (besides Vogue Nippon), it's called Androgyny Magazine and it's fashion for men and women...and it's spectacular, it's even in English, but don't be fooled it's not an American Magazine as most of ours is from England and I love it...all the boys and girls look like ghosts and there is even a "dead girl/crime scene" inspired photo spread...I know, it's dark and in bad taste doesn't matter, it was just refreshing to see photos that would never and could never make they way onto American Vogue or dare I say...Elle.

I swear I looked through the magazine non stop for an it is time to devour it and read...but alas, no time for that today, as I really must do some creating and then...package parcels (note the alliteration), I really wish I had a packaging elf to help me...that way I could spend the day reading celeb gossip on the internet and making stuff...and even, drawing which I am still doing, or at least trying to do...thank you to all of you who put up with frantic/negative/crazy emails from me about how I "can't" draw....all of your support means so very much.

also before I go of my dearest far away friends has a birthday today, please head over to her myspace or her etsy shop (she's having a sale) and wish her a very happy birthday.

ok must consume caffeine....pronto

ps- Nick because you were wondering...yes, I was a HUGE fan of "It's Your Move" but totally forgot that Justine Bateman was on an episode...I might have to borrow the dvds

Dear (Insert Name Here)

Dear Jason Bateman

hey...what's up???

I took a thought provoking online quiz yesterday about which hunk would have eben my boyfriend in the 1980's...and you know what....I got you.

For the first time I really felt like one of those silly quizzes really seemed to "get" me...I think you would have been my boyfriend in the 80's...well the you you that was in the half a season of "It's Your Move" and then later in Valerie's Family/The Hogan Family/The many names did that show have???

And seriously, Arrested Development was the best show ever...and you, well you were awful cute in it.'s where the letter gets a little dark (like Flowers in the Attic), my other favorite show when I was a kid in the 80's was...Family Ties...every time I would watch that show I would just say to myself "I am So Mallory"...."That's Me", "I AM MALLORY).

I mean...the similarities were striking, long brown hair (yep, got it), obsession with clothes (yep, there too), kinda bad at the whole school thing (sadly yes, though I have a very high iq), and bad ass 1980's rocker boyfriend (well, mine was in the 1990's and it was my bubs...but yes, had that too).

So now you see my problem...if I am "Mallory"...then that means I am Justine Bateman...your sister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It figures, it just figures...I finally get a cute 1980's boyfriend and he turns out to be in a strange tv/pop culture be my damn brother...our love is forbidden.

please don't think I'm gross, I did not "rig" the quiz so I would end up with you honest....

so on that note, I will leave you, you will always have a place in my heart....

Things to waste time when it's too hot to think...

You Should Be a Romance Novelist

You see the world as it should be, and this goes double for all matters of the heart.
You can find the romance in any situation, and you would make a talented romance story writer...
And while you may be a traditional romantic, you're just as likely to be drawn to quirky or dark love stories.
As long as it deals with infatuation, heartbreak, and soulmates - you could write it.

You Are Catwoman

short bread cookies for breakfast

why oh why does the weekend have to be over....why do the days off with my bubs fly by so fast, and now I am here all alone...

you see it's dreadfully hot today complete with air quality alerts and the whole none see my work room has no air conditioning and once the lights are on to work I quite literally cook myself in the heat....also it makes it near impossible for paint to dry, and seeing as I am so impatient I keep messing with things until they are just that...a mess, and lumped into a large pile of things never to see the light of day again.

so my plans for today....basic hiding out in my cool bedroom with the computer, package some stuff, and try not to breath any bad air. I will honestly try to get out and do a little creating, but already I am feeling unmotivated when I go in the other room, like walking head first into a solid wall of heat.

so I sit and I wait for the impending once it gets over 90 here in Columbus the power tends to get "spotty" flickering on and off many times a day, until the inevitable longer blackouts...

So my bubs and I had a wonderful weekend for us...just lots of us time complete with drinking drinks outside when the horrible neighbors were not home...we even got to go on a field trip to the movies last night with our friend Clemencia, we went to see.....

now, I am not overly a fan of giant robots doing their giant robot thing, but that movie was mindless and ridiculous fun for me....maybe it was the drinks and loads of sugar that gave me such a high....but truthfully I think it was the best of the silly summer blockbusters so far...except Nancy Drew which was the perfect movie ever.

how were all of your weekends???

today's photos are....A collage called "The Fury Of Sunsets", as well as one of my double sided pendants called "The Ghost Orchid" which is based on the book I am currently reading (and almost done...of the same title).

wish me luck in the heat today!

Friday, Friday

happy Friday everyone....

seriously all week I have had no idea what day it is because of the holiday....then Keith came home from work early yesterday so having him around again has made me once again think that today is in fact Monday...not Friday...

sigh, then again days of the week really don't matter to me much anymore as with no "real job" to rush off to...but I will say this, there is still somehting very alluring about the idea of Saturday...seriously it just makes me feel less guilty for sleeping until 8:00...I swear one day I am going to not set the alarm on a day when my bubs is at work and just see how long I will actually sleep....I am afraid that I will sleep the whole day away, and wake up after noon sometime, or even worse...wake up because my darling bubs comes home from a full day at work, to find me still sleeping in the bed.

yeah...that would sure show the world how hard I work.

So what are your plans this weekend?? My bubs and might go down to gallery hop on Saturday night, though I know that this is the very last thing that he wants to do...I really want to go, so this is when I am torn with selfishness...I think I have made an inner deal with myself, if the weather is nice, and he doesn't et out too late and he's not too tired we will go...

(though usually on Saturdays if we don;t have the mean cheese we both end up falling asleep on the couch or decide to take a "quick nap" only to wake up several hours later.

I'm like the damn sleeping beauty you know.

Oh speaking of Fairy Tales...this week the creative challenge on etsy was to make a piece that was inspired by your favorite fairy tale....really this was like Sophie's Choice yet do you choose??? You see I love fairy tales....the real ones, not the crap Disney puts out...

Because at the end of The Little Mermaid...she does not end up with the in the book she kills herself, that is how I like my old timey kids stories....I like them to be sort of frightening, very tragic, and all around engrossing.

so....after mulling over a ton of tales, I decided to go with "The Red Shoes" by Hans Christian Anderson, I love things about dancing and will admit to be a huge sucker for the old movie of the same name.

So there you have it, a very long winded explanation for the piece that I am showing today.

that's all for now darling ones, hope you all have a great weekend.

missing yesterday

Morning loves

hope all of you US people had a wonderful July 4th and the rest of my International friends had a most amazing Wednesday...

yesterday started with my bubs and I sleeping in....together, I know, I know something that never happens but for 2 times a month, so this was a bonus...

we knew we had a lot of nonsense that needed to get done during the day, but....we just could not bring ourselves to rush out the door so soon, especially after sating up sort of late the night before and having drinks outside because all the neighbors were away.

So after finally tearing ourselves out of bed we had to take care of the house which we had failed to do post mean cheese, plus I had to package stuff, and then there were annoying business related things to be done...knowing my bubs actually had to go out Wednesday night it made the day feel a bit compressed.

Later in the afternoon as a treat for getting "real work" done we decided to go out for a while, my bubs went to the guitar store and "played" with the toys there, I will admit I know nothing about guitars except for which one I think is pretty or not, so basically he would play one I would say "that's pretty", he would play one...I would say"that's not as pretty" and so on and so forth.

I guess I was a good sport in the guitar store so after that we decided to go to Macy's...where I wandered around and looked at things and my poor bubs did a lot of "That's pretty", right back to me....I ended up treating myself to a new outfit, complete with the cutest top I have ever seen and a new skirt, sure I spent more than I "should" have, but at the time, I knew I needed them.

From there we hit Starbucks, Michaels for supplies, Target just to look around...then back home...last night when I was alone I really began to devour the book "The Ghost Orchid" and it is haunting me right now as I type this....will I have the will power to keep from reading it today??? Will I be able to get some work done???

ok truthfully I want to go back to sleep, you see my entire neighbor hood was lighting off fireworks non stop for the past two days, in fact someone in the neighborhood was setting them off until 2:00am...I kept peeking out the window to see who it was but due to sleepiness, alergy medicine, and a bit of the demon liquor....I could not tell where the noise was coming from, just that it was annoying as can be.

The piece I am showing today is something I am particularly proud of, I love the woman in it, and also was totally in love with the ghostly tree picture I found to use as a background. The piece is called "It Was Only Important To Smile" and is available in my etsy shop.

Book OCD

Good morning campers...

yes, I have just decided as I type this that I am going to pretend that this is summer camp (in my brain), I never went to summer camp but always wanted to....I had these sill fantasies of becoming best friends with my bunk mates, and during a dance with the boys camp across the lake (because you know there is always a boys camp across the lake) I would have my first kiss.

None of it happened...but right now for some reason I wish I had some camp stories to tell...well ones that happened to me, not the girls in the original "Parent Trap" movie.

wow...I have just begun to write and all ready I am all over the place.

First, I really need to thank you all for putting up with the "cock talk" of yesterday, really it means a lot, and I am glad you all loved (and were haunted by) the term "flailing cock" as much as you were...sadly my bubs and I actually use that phrase more that we probably should...we're grownups after all...we should start talking Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady.

So....the drowsy summer is beginning to really set in for me....sales have slowed completely in the past two weeks and all I want to do is read...

as you know I have been on a total historical fiction bender as of late, and I actually just finished The Hidden Diary of Marie Antoinette, which was beautiful....after that I moved onto The Clue in the Crumbling's a Nancy Drew book I got at the used book store down the street, it is the same vintage of the ones I read when I was a it was amazing to re-read the's so adorable, and really I forgot how many times during mystery solving that Nancy quite literally takes a break to eat cookies or a cake.

I have decided to collect all the Nancy Drew books, but they have to be the vintage of my childhood books...I already have managed on Ebay to score a bunch of them....I will be getting one duplicate book though so if any of you want it...just let me know, if there is a demand I will will give it away raffle style.

You see...I am a book person, well, strike that...I am a reader, completely voracious, and for a few years when we had the comic shop I had no time to just sit and read to my hearts content...but now I have a bit more time...and I love it, nothing gives me more joy than falling into a world or words.

So in honor of that, I made this piece called "I Am Too Shy", it is available in my etsy shop....I can just imagine in a library or above a bookcase or even in a little girls room...

books are dreamy...

ok, enough of that....tomorrow is letters to celebrities day is also the 4th of July so I amd not sure if I am going to bother with a letter or not....I am assuming that many of you will actually be out and about enjoying a day off...I am planning on sleeping in with my bubs and then going to see the Transformers movie with our friend Clemencia....and Clem....if you are reading this, bring cookies, I am already starving.

Happy 4th of July everyone....or as I like to call it in my neighborhood..."Wait was that a firework or a gunshot" day.

The Neighbor mystery and drama part II

Online Dating

Mingle2 - Online Dating

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend, mine's over with, so that is good.

As I mentioned before bubs, mean cheese, and I went on a big walk on Saturday afternoon....a "forced march" if you will in hopes that it would tire out little cheesy and she would go to sleep early. To our surprise she did not throw fits during the walk...ok that is a lie she through some fits but none so large that we had to turn around, and she managed to walk quite a bit of the time least 50% of the Keith only had to carry her for half the time (yes we know she should not be carried at all...but it was that or she would lay on the ground and scream).

Though I believe the cheese got back at us for the rest of the weekend...complete with screaming, hitting, screaming, crying, and yes...even more screaming.

so yesterday morning my bubs decides to take the cheese to the park so I can take a shower and have a moment to myself without the constant banging at the bathroom door of the little one...As I get out of the shower my bubs is knocking at the door, I quickly throw in a towel and he sort of dramatically bursts into the bathroom.

my bubs - Do not answer the door no matter what happens...mean cheese and I are leaving to do recycling

me- but what happened

my bubs- Mr. Hillbilly and Mrs Hillbilly were fighting

me- so

my bubs- and she chased her out of the house and she ran into the car and locked herself in, she was screaming "stay away from me asshole"

me- oh my god

my bubs- no it's way worse...he was naked

me- ugh....

my bubs- yeah totally naked, I saw his cock.

me- did the mean cheese see???

my bubs- no she was in the van at the time, I told him he had 3 seconds to get back in the house or I would kill him.

me- bubsie you don't want to fight a naked saw Borat...........(long pause) I can't believe he was naked.

my bubs- I saw his cock (he is repeating himself, I think he is in shock) I saw his flailing cock.

(end scene)

um.................what the hell am I living next too....oh and as I was typing this I heard mr gangsta on the other side of me lock himself out of the apartment he doesn't live in next door....he made some calls to "his lady" and then I believe he proceeded to break into the apartment.

(I need to move, I need to move, I need to move)

wow...I was going to showcase some of my work, but I really hate to show something pretty in a post that uses the words "flailing cock", so please if you would like to see some pretty things you can visit my shop.

more tomorrow...
