short bread cookies for breakfast

why oh why does the weekend have to be over....why do the days off with my bubs fly by so fast, and now I am here all alone...

you see it's dreadfully hot today complete with air quality alerts and the whole none yards...you see my work room has no air conditioning and once the lights are on to work I quite literally cook myself in the heat....also it makes it near impossible for paint to dry, and seeing as I am so impatient I keep messing with things until they are just that...a mess, and lumped into a large pile of things never to see the light of day again.

so my plans for today....basic hiding out in my cool bedroom with the computer, package some stuff, and try not to breath any bad air. I will honestly try to get out and do a little creating, but already I am feeling unmotivated when I go in the other room, like walking head first into a solid wall of heat.

so I sit and I wait for the impending blackout....as once it gets over 90 here in Columbus the power tends to get "spotty" flickering on and off many times a day, until the inevitable longer blackouts...

So my bubs and I had a wonderful weekend for us...just lots of us time complete with drinking drinks outside when the horrible neighbors were not home...we even got to go on a field trip to the movies last night with our friend Clemencia, we went to see.....

TRANSFORMERS!!!

now, I am not overly a fan of giant robots doing their giant robot thing, but that movie was mindless and ridiculous fun for me....maybe it was the drinks and loads of sugar that gave me such a high....but truthfully I think it was the best of the silly summer blockbusters so far...except Nancy Drew which was the perfect movie ever.

how were all of your weekends???

today's photos are....A collage called "The Fury Of Sunsets", as well as one of my double sided pendants called "The Ghost Orchid" which is based on the book I am currently reading (and almost done...of the same title).

wish me luck in the heat today!

I feel like there must be something wrong with me, because I really could give a shit about Transformers. Does that mean I have to hand in my nerd license? Seriously, I liked the knock-off GoBots better as a kid.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, though. And let's be honest: good though it may be, nothing will compare to Birthday of the Dead.

Happy Monday. Stay cool! xoxo

Yeah, transformers was a lot more fun than I expected. It was dumb and cheesy, but it relished in it and I enjoyed that. The peeing redsox fan next to are parked car on the way home was not much fun.

We get power outages here in the dead of winter. Last V Day the power was out for 10 hours and the car was frozen to the ground. Good times!

Are you sure you don't live in India with all those power outages? I love that you see the silliest movies, I always want to but can never bring myself to go to the theater for them. I then end up secretly renting them on DVD while sewing away in the bedroom with the door closed. Anyway, your habits are so endearing. I am glad you had a fun weekend.

Oh you poor thing!! I know that I simply could not bear to do anything in heat like that - as a Scot it just makes it impossible for me to function so I do empathise.

Glad you had a great weekend/sorry it was so short - they always are arn't they? Such a pity. I think you should lounge around in silk (for coolness) drinking ice teas or you cool drink of choice and flick through fashion mags (for the cooling draught of the pages).

What a wonderful post! It's good that the two of you had some time to yourselves. That's important and very good for you. :) Wonderful work as always! :)

I swear, this was just too much!!! We both have non-cooled Studios??? Hello? Mine should come someday, if the darn electric company ever approves extra power to our property so that my studio can get some kind of air. They are so slow. Too bad I don't have it in me, to lock myself up in there and die of heat. Then, Mr. Lovee could sue the Electric company over my death. Wait, then he would be rich, I would be dead, and he would have some young hot babe to share my money?? No way. Nevermind. Up in the aircooled computer space too! xoxoxox (ps, I am alone too, the weekend with Mr. Lovee, gone. Too bad we are not neighbours)

Ugh... sounds icky in your studio. I can't stand being hot. Ugh, ugh, ugh. Hanging out in whatever AC you can today sounds like a good plan to me!

Love the new work!

Karen Beth :)

Jenn!
I'm loving what you've been doing lately! What a bummer with no AC. Here in the south we'd die without it!
