more exciting news...

I know, I know...I take a blog vacation and then I come back and am all business....but this just proves I have been busy with stuff.

Thanks to all of you who read and sent me emails about the great interview I did over at Stainless Steel Droppings, if you get the time, go on over and check it out. The blog is one of my new favorites!

Today's announcement is something some of you already know, a while back the talented Lori of Heart Works By Lori asked me to collaborate with her on a line of jewelry. I was both flattered and intimidated, as Lori is wonderfully talented and the caliber of artists she works with is high. She even has a collection of jewelry in the Museum Of Fine Arts, in Boston.

So, after about a millisecond of thought I immediately told her yes!!

The images today are just a few of the wonders she now has in her shop, I will be listing a few in my shop later on as well, but Lori has the majority of the pieces available.

She has even been kind enough to run a contest where you can win of the necklaces, you can find that here. Make sure you head there and leave a comment and you just might win!

The collection is still in it's early stages, it will be expanding in the coming weeks.

Speaking of collections, the aceos I showcased a few days ago are all but sold out, and a new set is making their way into the shop in the coming days as well, so keep your eyes peeled.

(not actually peeled mind you, as that seems disgusting, and I do have a severe eye phobia)

more tomorrow.

300!!! and a GIVEAWAY!!

WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!

It's my 300th post, yup.....wow, so...ok, I thought it would feel more monumental than it does, but alas...maybe I am still too tired, that's it.

I'm too tired for fanfare.

so yesterday one of my comments said that I should give away a piece of artwork....and you know what.....that is a damn good idea...in fact I like it so much I am going to give 2 things away.

yup, there will be 2 winners, I will give away an 8x8 collage and an 8x10 collage (with other goodies of course).

So this is how it will work....leave a comment and you are entered, or buy something from my shop, and you are entered....I will do the contests separate so the shop and the blog contest will be two different things.

how's that, because you see....I also hit the 1400 sales mark in my shop too....so, there's another little celebration.

I will keep the contest open all weekend, and announce the winner on Monday.

Oh now I am so excited....

so, I know I have been hinting that there will be new merchandise in my shop for weeks now, and I did show you the new button set earlier in the week....well, if calculations are correct the new pieces should be delivered today (hopefully) so they would be available for sale tomorrow or so....

That is why I have given you a little sneak peak of the rings (YES, rings) and the new sticker set...I am also getting hair pins but come one, I need to leave a little to the imagination, I'm not just going to flash all my "stuff" all over town.

how would you ever respect me???

ok, so the rings, are fabulous and there is only one of each design, the stickers come in a set and there are several available.

so, that's the that...so get to commenting or buying...you know, whatever your hearts desire.

happy Friday!

So Much...Just so, so much

wow...I fear this will be epic, or maybe not...but I feel like this morning I have a lot say so please don't judge me too harshly if I switch up subjects like crazy, crazy, crazy...

  • Thank you to everyone that read the first ever Petite Heights Sunday strip....there are loads more to come, and we are hoping that perhaps sometime after Fall and Winter that Petite Heights might be come a daily strip. If you missed the comic you can read it here or here.
  • Petite Heights Contest............that's right you heard it here first..my bubs and I need a Petite Heights logo, we also need a nice little graphic for the credits. So, this is what I am asking...I want one of you to design it, it does not have to be fancy, it could even just be a wonderful typeset. The winner will become a character in the comic (well you as a child) and will be featured in one of the upcoming holiday strips, you get to pick the holiday!! You will also get to keep the original comic art as well!! How cool is that??? Well, I think it's pretty cool. I know most of you are pretty creative so get to creating. I will give you until next Monday...if you have any questions let me know.
  • The new house....in our stalker rounds this weekend we drove by the house again to chat with the landlords who are gutting and redoing the place...not only in the front porch and front of the house re-painted....but, there is going to be a porch swing installed....OMG!!! Can you believe it,I can see me know, sipping whiskey drinks and sitting on the swing, a little piece of heaven attached to my house.
  • During our weekend adventures we ended up at the used book store a block from the new house, and I treated myself to a couple new books, one being....(drum roll please) The Time Traveler's Wife, which I know so many of you have told me I need to read, well, it was there staring me in the face, and I bought it. I was up a bit late last night reading too, and it is wonderful. Also purchased at the bookstore was French in 10 Minutes A Day, I would really love to be able to speak French, I took it in school when I was little and hated it, but lately it has become important to me to learn it. Maybe it is because I am getting older, and I am thinking about my heritage, and my Mom, and the fact that she spoke French the majority of my life and hers...she now speaks only English, but growing up when she and her friends would talk it was always in French...and it was always a mystery.
  • Yesterday we went to a comic show in the morning where I got a few dreadful old Gothic romance paperbacks...basically I got them because the covers were ridiculous and beautiful at the same time....and I could not resist, picture women with beautiful long hair, and crazy old houses (always up on a hill) and dark and moody skies...perfection.
So, as you can see...I have been busy, though as you can also see....I have not mentioned packing, oh that's right, I have not been packing at all (that is a lie, I packed my purses and shoes the other night), so I still have a lot, a whole lot to do...but I work well under pressure so I am not really going to sweat it, not yet.

So, how were your weekends....has everyone been busy reading Harry Potter??? Nothing against the little wizard but I never got into the books, again I blame my no good ex husband for that (he was obsessed) also the fact that a comic by the name of Books of Magic which came out years before anything Harry Potter related, does have quite a similar character set up, and Harry looks just like the lead character in those comics, and they were HUGE in England as they were written by Neil Gaiman....but I digress, I have nothing against Harry Potter, but I would like it if someone...ANYONE would send me an email and tell me if Hermione and Ron end up "getting together" at the end....seriously, are they, are they not....it's all I care about.

one last announcement kind of thing before I bid you a very fond adieu (FRENCH!!)

Don't forget the sale I am having in my etsy shop, 30% off Sale Items and 20% off the rest of my" shop, please write "SUMMER07" in the message to seller section and I will send you a new invoice!!

until then....enjoy some of the new pieces I have done.

xoxo

Dear (Insert Name Here) week 8 (is it 8, I made that up)

Dear Anna Wintour

(editor in chief of American Vogue)

I have never been so inspired to write in to a magazine before....blah, blah....seriously why do all letters that involve magazines have to start like that???

ok, I will just come out with it.

Bravo on the May 2007 issue of Vogue, I mean this in all seriousness. You wooed me with the models on the cover but then kept it going all the way through. I felt for the first time in at least 2 years that I was reading Vogue, not a glorified version of People magazine with an insufferable article about Jennifer Hudson or Sienna Miller.

(seriously, how did you give the go ahead to put Jennifer Hudson on the cover????)

I was actually taken aback and moved by the clothes on the cover as well, something that does not happen very often anymore as I am more inclined to focus on the celeb than the clothes.

It is still about the clothes, right? Or did I lose something a long the way?

Not to sound all "The Devil Wears Prada" or anything, but I honestly believe that fashion is the most important art form our culture has today...and that is really saying something seeing as I am an "artist" myself.

I think American Vogue needs to be that bible, that bible of class, style, and fashion...it NEEDS to be that, I want it to be that, the dream magazine of my childhood.

I am sure by the time next month rolls around you will have f-ed with my emotions again but putting the damn kids from Harry Potter on the cover, and I will be forced to write you a hate later calling you the devil and telling you that I think Merryl Streep put too much heart in her performance of you.

but until then...

thank you.

sincerely,
Jennifer Gordon, longtime reader first time writer.

Monday

wowsers, happy Monday everyone...

first, a giant disclaimer, I am leaving for Pittsburgh in the wee hours of Friday Morning to go to a show.

I am in no way prepared for this show at this moment in time....but I have 4 days right? plenty of time to get ready for that.

but, that means I will be doing an awful lot of work from here on, which means I might not be "all about the blogging like I normally am, fear not...I will still be blogging and reading blogs, but you migt sense something missing from posts or comments, fear not all the love is still there, it is my sanity that is not.

But....I have plans to bribe you. You see, I am going to have a contest to celebrate my 1 year Anniversary of selling on etsy.

I will announce contest winners 1 week from Today.

I know, I know...you're all thinking, how do I enter this contest.

Easy, here are the ways.

1- leave a comment on my blog (each day you comment gives you one entry, so if you comment Monday-Thursday, you get 4 entries. If you comment 4 times in one day...sorry, that still only counts as 1)

2- You can buy something from my shop each item you buys enters you TWICE!!! Yes, you heard me...twice per item.

3- you can combine both ways, comment every day, buy a bunch of stuff, and up your chances.

But now you are thinking....what will I win?

Well this is where it will get creative, you see I don't think every prize fits every person, so depending on the winner everyone would get a different sort of prize, it will be a giant goody box of love from me to you.

It will include for sure...original art from me, cards and a collage, along with some other cool goodies.

It might include depending on who you are and what you like.

1-books
2-comics
3-supplies
4-toys
5-movie
6-yoga tapes
7- fashiony things.
8- sweets

cool huh? so now that you know the rules....on you mark, get set...go!!!!

I will be back tomorrow morning for more blog adventures, the piece I am showing today will be available in my shop later on. I am so very much in love with this collage at the moment, I hope you like it as much as I do.

xoxoxo
jenn

ps- also................I am so geeked up over the return of Heroes tonight that it is causing me pain!!!!
