the mean cheese - scribble war

good morning

how were all of your weekends???

well this weekend we had the lil mean cheese and it was her first full weekend with the puppy and let me just say this....it was a loud weekend.

By the end things were "more normal" but there were times....oh man.

now the cheese and scribble were great with each other, all things considering, the mean cheese was only rough with him a couple times, pulling his tail and once shoving the little guy....but she does not really "understand" but we are trying to make her.

lil scribble pup was good with her, he never snapped or barked, even when for 2 hours she taunted the poor beat in his crate while we he was trying to sleep...when we tried to take her away from him she would yell at the top of her lungs...which proved to be most upsetting for the dog and the humans of the house.

so....by the time last night rolled around we had a very tired little puppy and 2 equally tired puppy parents.

That was primarily the weekend, you see it is really cold here, like single digits and harsh wind....so it feels much below zero and it is too cold to do anything, and of course today I ran out of cocoa....you see I was having double the cocoa this weekend to beat the cold, and the screaming stress tends to make me head for sweets.

So today I must get down to work, I have lots of things I want to make and last week was filled with commissions so it was hard to build up more stock for my shop.

plus I am trying to work on something special for jody....it's like nothing I have ever tried before, so wish me luck.

I am hoping later today to have a couple new prints for my shop as well, which I am excited about.

I feel as though....

I feel as though I have been missing from "bloglandia", I know I have been very neglectful of many of your blogs, please know I am still reading but commenting has really gone to the wayside...

you see Christmas has kind of thrown me, I was pretty darn busy for a while with commissions and this week has been a bit of a respite from that, I do have one large project due before Christmas, so next week I might be boggled down with that...all things depending.

Today I will spend my day packaging things and (crosses fingers) taking photos of some of the new pieces I finished yesterday...you see the sun has not been out in ages here, and that has made photographing work all but impossible, in my impatience yesterday I did try to photo them, but alas they all came out blurry, I blamed the camera, myself, photoshop, and then myself some more before finally just accepting the fact that it constantly looks like the sun has just set.

So keep my silly photos in your thoughts and hope for a break of sunshine today, as of tomorrow we will be snow covered yet again as this fair city is preparing to shut down completely with the impending storm.

Now some of you familiar with Columbus realize that for some reason, even though we get a lot of snowy winter weather here...the city itself is unable to handle it, and quite literally shuts down with a series of "snow emergencies"

like Level 1 Emergency - 1" of snow, proceed with caution
Level 2 - 2"-3" try not to leave the house, begin stockpiling piles of meat and soda (or something like that
Level 3 -4"-5"- You are only supposed to leave if you have to work, if wherever you work has not been closed.
Level 4- 5" or more of snow - do not leave the house, you are not allowed, everything is closed except hospitals (pretty much) you will get pulled over and given a ticket for being out.

ok, some of these totals might be wrong but I don't think so, at one point last year we got about 8" of snow and the schools shut down for like 4 days.

so yeah....here I am blogging about the weather, and I know that's pretty lame, but bear with me, because this weekend during the virtual whiteout/snow catastrophe....we will be with the mean cheese, miss meanburger.

All I have to say is thank god we are now in this big house, instead of our little apartment, I don;t think any of us would make it through....you've seen the shining right?? It would be like that, except in the role that Jack Nicholson played...well that would be the mean cheese, while my bubs and I hid, and feared for our lives.

lol

ok, enough babble.

talk to you all soon

xoxoxo

once upon a dreary Monday morning

morning darling ones.

yup is a dreary day today, it's almost 8:00am and it looks like night, one of those days that you wish it were still the weekend, and you were still in bed with your bubs (note I said your bubs, not that you wish you were in bed with MY bubs)

anyway....did y'all have a nice weekend?? Mine was low key but in a way, spectacular. We "Christmased" up the house, we have 2 Christmas trees and other little wintertime pretties al, over the place. You know what, it's really nice and it makes me feel good and very secure to see it.

what's up with that? Does that mean I am getting old? Seriously I could sit and watch the lights on the tree for hours, and you know what....at one point that is what I did, I curled up with my book and blankets and just relaxed.

It seems so long ago that I was involved in the hustle and bustle of our comic shop, and before that, living in NH and winter being the busy theater season.

It is all so remote, but in a good way.

My life seems simple and profound at the same time, my joy from the "little things" has grown tremendously, I think that comes from really being and love, and well...being poor. Now that I have no money, it really makes me realize what is important and what is not.

Seriously, I came downstairs at one point yesterday and noticed a few small presents with my names on them under our tree....and I almost cried, it made me so happy, not because I would be getting presents soon (though I do love that) but just the fact that my bubs got me stuff and secretly wrapped it already....well it touched my heart.

I don't know what has gotten into me, I am living in sappy city today....maybe it's all the holiday cheer.

So today, is what is known as "cybermonday" the busiest internet day of the whole year, the theory being this is when people start doing their internet shopping for the holidays, and now that they are all back to work, well....that is the perfect time to start.

I guess, or something like that. SO anyway, it's cyber blah blah....so that means I can almost guarantee that lots and lots of etsy shops will be having special sales (I know I am, hint hint), so if you have not started your internet Christmas shopping yet, now is the time for sure.

ok, I'm off...the picture shown today is of two new pieces, one is already available in my shop and the other will be listed later today.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

morning.

well we survived another mean cheese visit, this one was filled with a "little" less screaming and mood swings from little miss cheese, or miss mean, depending on the day.

so......................I love Christmas, there, I said it.

For years I was sort of a Scrooge, for no real reason, I just was, Christmas seemed like a whole lot of worry too much time being spent frantic and being shuttled from place to place for visiting, Me being overly self conscious and often shy, found these get ups to be rather frightening. My father too, seemed a bit nonplussed by the holiday as well.

You see he and I were always just a tad "too serious" for Christmas.

Sure, we did all the decorations and ate the big foods but there was something strangely tense about it all. Please don;t get me wrong, my childhood is filled with memories of wonderful Christmases with my family, but they still seemed a bit tense, and sometimes a little sad.

By the time I reached adulthood and was involved in my first marriage to that no good hippie, I just about hated the holiday, then my father passed away and it became even worse, where was the light, the joy.....I did not see or feel what anyone else was.

Then in an attempt to build my professional theater resume years ago, I auditioned for "A Christmas Carol" and landed a role (that year I was Belle, Scrooge's love), and something began to slowly happen to me over that production, when at first I loathed the songs and the hoopla, I did them because I had to, because there was a paycheck involved. But somehow the joy began to seep in.

I did the show for the following several years, and by the time the productions were done, I was a wee bit heartbroken.

I had learned to love Christmas, in my own little "England long ago" kind of way.

Then my bubs and I got back together, and low and behold, he loves "everything Christmas" yup, everything, we are already listening to the themed up music, and soon we will be watching tons and tons of Christmas DVDs.

it's infectious.

well, why the long diatribe of Christmas love today????? Well we got our tree yesterday, and for the first time in my life, I am now the proud owner of a "big tree" not huge like we wanted because we could not afford it, but we did get a a tree that is taller than us...

I am aching to decorate it, just aching!!! We have been wandering the Christmas sections of all the local stores and looking at the ornaments, it almost makes me cry, they are so beautiful, and not always but sometimes there is someone so sincere in the Christmas aisles that is feeling this strange joy too....and it both fills and breaks my heart.

It is strange.

ok, this is clearly enough babble for me, I will write more later about Christmas eve, or as I call it "Kissmiss" and why it is so special to my and my heart.

more later darlings.

My Studio is my cocoon!

seriously after a particularly dreadful day yesterday (weather wise) my bubs and I caved in and treked out in the freezing rain to get.....a space heater.

Man, it's seriously the best thing, ever. I want to have it strapped to me always.

Now, yes, I understand that I am using a ton of electricity but really it is a lot cheaper than heating this giant house with our gas heat.

I think this is going to make it a lot easier for me to not leave my studio during the day, before I was prone to wandering the house and turning on the heat, and while downstairs well, I would turn on Martha Stewart and have peanut butter toast, then some cocoa.

You see how that can eat up ones day.

in all seriousness this will help, as of tomorrow when I get a giant order in from Dick Blick...I am commission girl for the next long while, I have three amazing projects that I am working on right now for people, it's been amazing.

also......in more shop news, some of you may have noticed already but I have new mini blank notecards available, I posted them late Saturday and I have already sold almost half my stock of them since then, so snatch them up now while you still can.

I also have a new sticker set, round gift tags, and I am in the process of getting more prints made...oh and another thing. mini note pads, cool idea huh....wait they are even cooler....they are shaped like a giant matchbook. The are about 3"x3" and so cute a great thing to slip in a tiny bag or to give as a stocking stuffer!!!

The gift tags and notepads are not listed as I type this, but will be listed later today, all quantities are limited so get them quick. The note pads are all one of a kind!!

wow, this has been an awful lot of shop talk this morning, which is too bad. I had one of those weekends that I did not want to end, we did nothing spectacular except just hang out, we watched a movie we went to bed early, slept in and had special breakfast on Sunday.

all parts heavenly.

ok, now off to start my day.

how was your weekend??? (see it's not ALL about me)

:)

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

(please note the title, it's brrrrrrrrrrr as in cold, not Burr as in star of Godzilla, Raymond Burr)

sorry, I am filled with nothing but snark this morning I guess. So, it's Saturday...happy Saturday to you all.

it's f-ing cold here in this giant old house, and it's not the middle of November yet, so this really does not bode very well.

All I want to do is sleep and cuddle into my bubs because he is hot, both in looks and in temperature, he;s my little space heater!!

SO anyway, yesterday in my long stretch of packaging things and research for a commission and vintage photo retouching I got so cold, I kept adding layers and layers to my outfit so that by the time my bubs came home from work I was wearing.

1- pair of knee high socks
2- long johns
3- jeans
4- long sleeve black turtle neck
5- baby doll red Shazam t-shirt over the turtle neck
6- little black cardigan sweater, like a naughty secretary would wear
7- my winter hat
8- fleece blanket wrapped around my shoulders like a pashmina shawl

when my bubs looked at me he said

bubs- what the hell is wrong with you, it's not that cold.

me- um yeah it is, come over here and let me put my hands on your skin, they are so cold they feel wet.

bubs- no, no, NO!!!!! You should see yourself, you look like a homeless, homeless person

me- I don't know what that is, homeless, homeless

bubs- like a crazy bag lady who had no home, then she got a giant box to live in and then the giant box got taken away from her, so she is double homeless.

(me looking in the mirror)

me- oh yeah....I do, but it's cute on me, right.

bubs- um........yeah.

me- can I put my hands on your skin??

bubs- still no.

so.....................this is it, this is how the winter is going to be, I can sense it, I will rock the homeless, homeless chic and my warm bubs will walk around being all warm.

even in the few minutes that it took to type this, my hands have gone cold.

sigh, I am turning into an old woman.

happy Saturday.

Embracing my inner Martha Stewart

Now I will say it once and I will say it again, I really believe Martha Stewart is just better than the rest of us.

No seriously I do, I know she is probably is bitch and yes, she is an ex con....but I don't care. I wanted to hate her for years but lately, well I just can;t bring myself to do it anymore.

Does this mean I am getting older, more domestic...no, I don't think so, but it's hard to put my finger on it.

I find myself in the Martha Stewart section of Michael's and I am just in awe, jaw gaping open like a moron, speaking in breathy tones to my bubs.

me- look at this glitter...it's beautiful
bubs- looks like glitter
me- yeah but look at it, it looks like shaved piece of real gold
bubs- hmmmm (clearly he is not looking anymore but at least he has not walked away)
me- I'm going to buy this
bubs- you don't even use glitter
me- I know but don't you think I should???

and so on and so on.....I have even started to take my "lunch break" sometime during 11-12pm during the week so I can watch about 10-15 minutes of it, oh, the things I see.....

she made a mold to make a candle out of a gord, she made decorative holiday platters using paper plates, a candle stick, and glitter...YES, GLITTER!!!!!

My mind starts reeling, I can do that, can't I??

then the food, the big piles of food on the pretty plates...yes, yes, I want that, I want that life, I want to make the baked goods and have the place settings and the gift baskets, the dinner parties and the sewn things.

It all seems so easy, so divine.

But then I realize... that I am in a Martha Stewart hypnotic spell, that her dark powers are ahving her way with me, I am not one of those people, with the making of the home goods.

seriously, last night I was hungry and and keith was not, left to fend for myself, all I was capable of making was warmed up mash potatoes...that's it, not even a veggie in sight.

I guess baby steps, right??? I mean I did warm up the potatoes on my own, which was a success of the microwave.

(last time I used the microwave I burned popcorn and the house smelled like fire)

so there you have it, lots of babble this monday morning.

it was a rough rough weekend, so forgive the banality of it all, I needed to focus on something other than "real life" for a little while, so instead "Martha Stewart" life seemed better.

ps- My friend Maryam was nominated for a very prestigious blog award (best Middle Eastern or African Blog) so please if you all get a second, if you could go and vote for her here it would be wonderful!!!!!

the unicorn of blogging

or is it Bigfoot, or a thin girl who hates football in Ohio....anyway what I am getting at is this is a rarity.

A Saturday blog that is not solely for the purpose of pimping a sale in my etsy shop

(though check my shop tonight at 5:00pm for the sale- which will be 20% off, just write SNS in the message and wait for a new invoice.)

anyway, yes the Saturday blog, I thought it would happen later in the day as I am on mean cheese duty while my bubs is at work, but you see, the lil monster fell asleep on the couch while I ate Halloween Candy and watched the extras on The Notebook DVD.

sigh, a quiet moment.

it was wonderful, then it got even better, you see the mail arrived and low and behold I received a package in the mail, from loyal blog lovely, Michelle.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

I was expressing to her a certain longing for back home and she mailed me a whole bunch of New England love, some Devil Dogs, sea glass, photos of the ocean, Portsmouth Magazine, and best of all, a whole bag of beauty supplies.

Including......heaven in a tube, also known as "plump lips" I have had the stuff for less that a day but have used it a ton of times already...I am not sure how good for me it is as my mouth is numb, but damn, I look like sweet Angelina Jolie.

so there you have it, a wonderful moment on a Saturday!!!

so, with that I will leave you.

Thank you Michelle for seriously brightening my whole weekend.

love you, and love you all so you don't feel left out.

I am being crippled by the pressure

ok, let me cut to the chase.....I love blogging, I do, and as you all know I usually have plenty of things to say, to blah, blah about...............

but currently at the moment, I've got nothing, nothing at all.

And you know what, I know why...it's this National Blah, Blog month, it's the pressure. I have nothing to say because someone (the Blog Gods perhaps) have told me I need to say something or I will be turned into a troll or something.

SO that's it, someone told me to do something and I won't, like a misbehaving child....I have now turned into the mean cheese, desperate to bring a juice box into her bedroom....why does she want to drink juice in her bedroom????? Because I won't let her.

(you see I caved in once and let her bring the juice upstairs, and all she did was get to her room, then she very spitefully stood in her doorway and tossed the juice box to the floor and looked up at me with a cute/possessed by the devil, look on her face.)

Ok this is good, I am doing a stream of consciousness thing that is working for me. I like this.

Oh..........so yesterday my bubs and I went to the Halloween store (yes,m again...I know I have been there almost everyday for the past few weeks) but this time I was looking for a Wonder Woman costume in a size medium, they had it there and I was hoping to get one on sale...but alas someone else snagged it, and my dreams of wearing the costume to the comic convention at the end of the month are slowly evaporating.

I did on the other hand get a beautiful green brocade dress, prefect for any number of costumes, such as Anne Boleyn, A Pre- Raphaelite, or even if I just go to the Ren Fair to make fun of hippies.

so what are your plans this weekend, me...well...remember that juice scenario from before...well, that's about it. Perhaps there will also be a trek to the supply store in there too.

Oh, and if any of you are looking for custom items done for Christmas, please let me know, as I already have a list of pieces to do (at the moment the list is not that long, but still, it's a list) so let me know what you have in mind ASAP so I can make sure it gets done and I have the materials.

ok, enough of blah blah for today, please enjoy random pieces from my shop in the photos.

:)

um....

SO I could not even think of a snappy title, a catchy little something that grabs your attention, makes you giggle and then read on...

so without a snappy title, really, that does not bode well for the rest of this blog entry, what's a girl to say when a girl's got nothing to say.

Wait................I just want to say thank you (I do a lot of thanking you on this blog), thank you all for the great response to the aceos that I am doing for The American Cancer Society, all the ones listed are once again sold out, but there will be more today, it really warmed my heart that they sold so fast, you know it's the little things like this that restore my faith in humanity.

So, last night was a rough one for me, I was up most of the night with breathing problems, but seem to be doing better now, things seemed to calm down around 3:30am for me and I got a couple of good hours rest. My poor bubs though every day time I would cough he would wake up and rub my back, see THIS is why I hate getting sick at all.

So, do you all have fabulous plans this weekend?? Now that it is really starting to feel like fall around here I am so in the mood to go walking into town for some sort of hot alcoholic beverage and antiquing...you know?

Like, hot cider with whiskey....now, I know I can just make that in my own home, but there is something I just love about going out and about on cool nights...

with that I will leave you all...as I drift into daydreams about fall....have you noticed the colors I am using are getting very fall like???

these are some of my newest pieces, the first one id a small framed aceo set,and the other is a diptych done on stretched canvas.

They are both available in my shop

just me on a cold autumn morning,

hey everyone.

first once again I want to thank all of you who have been so wonderful with your comments, and emails of support during this week...during my semi breakdown and back again.

So, you are all wondering about Craftin Outlaws, how it went, was it fun....

Now, I am left wondering do I start with the good, or the bad...I never know, some people prefer it in a specific order, others all will nilly in a chronological order...I am going to start with the bad...

  • Kate was supposed to get here on Friday night, staying with me for 2 days during the show time, but.......................instead she gets in a car accident in NYC and cannot come to the show, last I heard she was fine, but sore. Stupid NYC cab drivers!!
  • While setting up for the show, I notice that Carla, you might know her as supastarr is set up right next to me, and I am a hundred shades of thrilled, I love her, but then I notice someone who is not Carla setting up next to me, I sheepishly try to tell them that they are in the wrong spot...but they don't care and set up next to me anyway....oh, and they are another collage artist...wtf?
  • it's sort of slow....steady but slow...slow enough for me to panic
  • at one point I was "this close" to selling my piece The Beekeeper's Wife, the women were fighting over whether or not to put it in the bedroom or living room, it was rather adorable, so then they ask me the price, and I politely tell them it's $100...the abruptly drop the piece back onto the table with a shocked looked on their face....all the while mumbling that it was beautiful, but not $100 beautiful......................................um, what? Really they said that, I tried to explain that it is two pieces each measuring 8x18 inches and that if they were in a gallery that piece would be priced at many hundreds of dollars, they did not seem to care....they just wandered away.
  • AT one point when I was wandering around someone came to the table and my bubs was telling them that all my pieces were one of a kind and I had no prints, they went on to tell him that they were not one of a kind considering "all I was doing" was finding pieces out of magazines, all I can say is thank god I was not there, I think I would have burst into tears.
  • Money wise.....I made less than I did last year, which is a disappointment as I have a $250 prescription to pick up in a few days...oh well.
OK.....................now the good (I am not a Debbie Downer)

  • I bought (before the show even started and I thought I would do better) a beautiful new purse from a Vendor names Aqua Cherry....it's fantastic, it is hidden away right now to be given to me as a present, or else I would show a picture....but it is made from an amazing beige and dark brown fabric...it's looks like vintage French Wallpaper....it's amazing.
  • My bubs was there to help me the whole day which was just the bee's knees, really!!!! We also got to see some of our favorite real life friends who came out to show their support.
  • Megan from MoogansCreations was across from me, and like that was not wonderful enough, she made for me.....a custom "mean cheese" plush.
  • I got to see a lot of the etsy people in "real life" and met a brand new glass jewelry person, also named Jennifer, you need to look at her shop, really beautiful.
  • Did I mention my new purse....yeah I know I did, but really...it's that good.
  • To make up for the mean things those few people said, I did hear a lot of more than wonderful feedback, in fact one young woman bought a collage and I swear she was almost crying, she was telling me she did not know a lot about art but she thought my work was "the prettiest she'd ever seen", and right there....that made the other not so nice stuff fade a way, a bit.
  • whiskey drinks on a sunny but cool Saturday in Autumn...yup, sipping whiskey, selling art, and buying new purses....all with my bubs. In some ways, it was the perfect day.
So that was it, in a nutshell....now I know I should not even worry about the bad stuff, and in short I am not (anymore....Saturday night and Sunday...that was a different story). I very rarely do shows and this is sort of why, I am very, VERY sensitive about what I do, it takes a long time to build confidence and in a short instant it is whisked away, back down to nothing. I am left empty and tired when all is said and done.

That is how I am feeling now, you see....my world, my little world that I live in now is very safe, I make things I spend a lot of time alone in my studio, the real world being just a hum traffic outside my window. It had been a long time since I had to put myself out there like that, and I will say it did tire me out a lot more than I thought it would.

I spent most of Sunday in a sleepy haze, not doing any "real" creating but some planning for new merchandise for my shop....

I am hesitant to say what is on the way, for fear of a little copy catting going on, but I am really excited...

Anyway so besides some planning of that, I just sort of lazed about the house, I even watched the Emmy's last night because I am a sucker for awards shows....and I am totally obsessed with Heroes and waited until the end to see them win, and they didn't...

wow, this was a whole lot of babble...yikes. Oh and if you are wondering about the picture....it's my latest altered book, it's called "A Sort Of Fairy Tale"

Falling Down and Falling Behind

morning people.

ok, so here it is, I know I promised photos of the house today to some of you, but......that will wait for tomorrow, as today will be a quick post (sort of).

You see, it's not quite 8:00am and I am behind already....I know, how is that possible....well you see, I mis-shipped a very important package to the wrong address...in that package were little mirrors to be used as party favors for a girls birthday party....

now with the party looming and no mirrors in hand....I offered to make and send the lovely buyer a one of a kind pendant for each of the girls at the party....my little "I'm sorry"

I know mistakes happen but I am really kicking myself because of this.

(this is why I need a shipping assistant...one who does not require that I pay a livable wage...or a wage at all...once again...any takers??)

So I hope you all had a good weekend, as you know this was the first weekend with the mean cheese in the new place, she seemed to enjoy it, my bubs even managed to get her to sleep in her bed, in her room...something she REFUSED to do at our apartment, where she slept on our couch, and before that...a yoga mat in the living room.

SO anyway, all was going good until the little cheesy took a tumble down our concrete stairs in the back yard and busted open her lip.

(for the record, I blame the silly orange foam shoe/clogs she wears that are silly, have no traction, and are one size too big, she is also in the phase where she just drags her feet everywhere instead of lifing them to walk.

So then there was a lot of screaming, and a lot of tears, and a lot of blood....followed by my bubs and I in near panic....

you see with the cheese being non verbal she can;t tell us, "Don't worry you losers, I'm fine", or "You know, you should bring me to the hospital something feels broken). There is also the fact that part of her condition gives her blod that does not clot.

Oh yeah...so when I say a lot of blood, there was a lot of blood.

Well, after ice and medicine the bleeding did stop, our hearts went back to a normal....and I was able to run an ice cube on the busted lip, all her teeth were fine, no cuts anywhere else, and it appeared more that she bit into her lip as she tumbled.

on the plus side, when her lips swelled she looked like the secret love child of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.....Shiloh who??????

So that was Saturday, then Sunday we mainly chilled at the house, all of us pretty sleepy as said swollen lipped little girl woke up at 5:00am on Sunday.

We did go on a magazine quest though....you see I needed to get the latest issue of Zink Magazine, and it was sold out at the Barnes and Noble, and the doofus in the magazine section was rude and useless to me, as I required him to do his job and to stop gawking at the beautiful girl in the tube top and big hoop earrings looking through various "Hair Styling Magazines" and the occasional "Bride Nightmare" magazines.

I finally ended up at a small newsstand on the borders of Little Somalia and Little India (that's North East Columbus) and there it was....It was all worth it because I got to hera some wonderful crazy rantings.

here's the scene...I enter, at the counter is this wonderful Indian man who owns the joint, he smiles at me thinking and knowing I will probably spend no less that $20 on magazines, but most likely more....

at the counter is an insane black man, who is screaming about Greed, Bill Gates, and George Bush...how the Devil is working through George Bush and Bill Gates to take down the power of God, and he is shocked that Jesus Christ, has allowed this to go on as long as he had.

This is when crazy man demands of the little Indian to hear his opinion of said Jesus vs greedy devil situation....wondering (no lie) what he thinks Jesus should do about it.

Indian man: "I do not believe in your Jesus Christ

Crazy Man- but the devil, you gotta know that shiz is true

Indian Man- no...no I do not

Crazy Man- but what about greed, do you believe in greed.

Indian Man- yes, greed is a fact.

That is when the crazy man (thankfully) gets a cell phone call and starts screaming that he barely has left the house and he knew "that bitch" would sneak off as soon as he left but he needed a lottery ticket.

Anyway, I end up buying my magazine...along with the latest issue of I-D....which was all wrapped up like porn.

We leave and hit the PO Box where I see I have received a package and in it are Fashion Magazines from Malaysia (thank you Conrad....they are beautiful)

oh and while leaving the post office I saw a rather "large" woman bend over, she was wearing a skirt, and I saw her...area.....yeah, it was nasty.

One more reason to be glad I do not live in that part of town anymore.

ok, I said this would be short and it's not....I am a liar. SO......please enjoy the photo today, it is of a new piece, and one I am insanely proud of, seriously there is a certain breakthrough happening and this us part of it. It's hard to describe or put my finger on, but the larger and pricier pieces I have been doing lately are really tapping into something.

I love my new house.

we all have our rituals....

good morning loves...

ok without further adieu or fanfare....I have to get something out in the open.

Today....is my birthday, I know many of you were confused as it appears that my bubs and I were celebrating last week.

You see once a girl reaches a certain age (we'll just call this the third anniversary of my 29th birthday) the birthday celebrations tend to come with a whole lot of me saying "Do I look old", "Should I dye my hair", "Am I as pretty now as I was when I was 16"

So, bubs and I usually celebrate and unbirthday of sorts, where I get presents, then I get a present a day leading up to the actual date...they are small presents but presents nonetheless....the celebratory week ends with the giving of the birthday card....then, we're done.

Even when I was little I celebrated my birthday for a week (pleasure of being an only child) My father would take vacation that week every year and we would go on little day trips, to Canobie Lake Park, Benson's Animal Farm (yes....of Petite Heights Fame), The beach, and my most favorite thing ever, we would take a bpat out to the Isles of Shoales of the coast of NH.

(some of you may know the Shoales from living there, others because they were made famous in the mediocre movie "The Weight of Water", which was based on the AMAZING book by Anita Shreve.

This year we were low key, as we are STILL unpacking and adjusting, also the new house has come with a ton more expenses, so we have been laying low.

I did wake up and eat a piece of cake and some ice cream for breakfast...I know, I'm a big fattie, but let's face facts, a girl does not celebrate the 3rd anniversary of her 29th birthday every day now, right???

so with that I will bid you adieu.

Oh and in honor of my birthday any order today will get a bonus gift!!! Woo Hoo!!!

Photos today are of my (already messy) work table with a large piece I have been working on for days and days...It may make its appearance in my shop later today!!

Saturday Night.....

Hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday....

I am enjoying my new studio (no....we are not unpacked yet, but a girl's got to work, right?)

we also had a quiet little un-birthday celebration for me last night, a couple days early, but that's what un-birthdays are for right?

I gorged on brownie cake, and ice cream and other assorted desserts, it was heaven.

so in honor of my birthday, my new house, and the fact that I am really close to hitting my 1300th sale (I'm at 1299) I am going to have a big sale tonight...

25% off everything in shop!!!

Happy Shopping, and I'll see you all back here for Petite Heights on Sunday.
