Friday, Friday

happy Friday everyone....

seriously all week I have had no idea what day it is because of the holiday....then Keith came home from work early yesterday so having him around again has made me once again think that today is in fact Monday...not Friday...

sigh, then again days of the week really don't matter to me much anymore as with no "real job" to rush off to...but I will say this, there is still somehting very alluring about the idea of Saturday...seriously it just makes me feel less guilty for sleeping until 8:00...I swear one day I am going to not set the alarm on a day when my bubs is at work and just see how long I will actually sleep....I am afraid that I will sleep the whole day away, and wake up after noon sometime, or even worse...wake up because my darling bubs comes home from a full day at work, to find me still sleeping in the bed.

yeah...that would sure show the world how hard I work.

So what are your plans this weekend?? My bubs and might go down to gallery hop on Saturday night, though I know that this is the very last thing that he wants to do...I really want to go, so this is when I am torn with selfishness...I think I have made an inner deal with myself, if the weather is nice, and he doesn't et out too late and he's not too tired we will go...

(though usually on Saturdays if we don;t have the mean cheese we both end up falling asleep on the couch or decide to take a "quick nap" only to wake up several hours later.

I'm like the damn sleeping beauty you know.

Oh speaking of Fairy Tales...this week the creative challenge on etsy was to make a piece that was inspired by your favorite fairy tale....really this was like Sophie's Choice yet again...how do you choose??? You see I love fairy tales....the real ones, not the crap Disney puts out...

Because at the end of The Little Mermaid...she does not end up with the Prince...no in the book she kills herself, that is how I like my old timey kids stories....I like them to be sort of frightening, very tragic, and all around engrossing.

so....after mulling over a ton of tales, I decided to go with "The Red Shoes" by Hans Christian Anderson, I love things about dancing and will admit to be a huge sucker for the old movie of the same name.

So there you have it, a very long winded explanation for the piece that I am showing today.

that's all for now darling ones, hope you all have a great weekend.

xoxo

I'm with you - fairy tales should be a little gothic!

Great postings - I enjoyed reading them. Boy, I wish I could sleep late! I am an early bird and have sleep issues so I really envy people that can (could) sleep late. Sleep late while you can and don't feel guilty about it! Luxuriate in your comfy bed.

8.00 is a sleep in for you???!!!! Oh gosh I need to get my act together. Late to bed and late up is my daily bad habit. Not good.

The new piece is beautiful!! The Red shoes is one of my favourite tales too, as is the film - I just adore it.

I prefer the non-Disney tales as well. And Little Mermaid is certainly a favorite.

Love your work!

Yay for Friday. I can't wait to get the heck outta here and go hang with my boy. This may be the slowest day ever....I have never been one into fairy tales much or Disney. Am I missing out on wonderfulness? When would I have learned about fairy tales? My family was always reading me nursery rhymes and shel silverstein after that. I feel left out and slightly inadequate now. Come to NYC!!!!

I haven't noticed any of these "creative challenges" on Etsy in awhile. Could you point me in the right direction?

Have a great weekend doing the gallery hop.

Naps are divine...I swear, I could take one when I was at the shop, if it wasn't for all those pesky customers!
