4 days and counting

Your Inner Muse is Thalia

You are most like this playful muse of comedy.
Life is all about laughter to you, and you're a natural comic.
You make people laugh until their sides split.
And you're always up for some play time!

so I am trying to channel my inner muse and get all the inspiration I can while I am working, but...have found myself easily distracted by...

1- trying to find the video of Brit Brit's bomb at the VMA's
2- I watched f-ing Super Nanny...yeah, that's low
3- taking blog quizzes
4- drinking Starbucks
5- celebrity gossip
6- etsy forum lurking

I did mention blog quizzes, right

You Are More Like Angelina Jolie

Bad girl with a heart of gold.
You are smart, sexy, and strong willed.
You aren't against stealing another girl's man...
If he's better off with you!
Are You More Like Jennifer or Angelina?

like finding out I was an Angelina was odd...duh, of course I am.

And last pointless quiz but not least...

Your Celebrity Sisters Are Mary-Kate and Ashley

Funky, eccentric, and offbeat
You're not a good girl or a bad girl, just a weird girl
Who Are Your Celebrity Sisters?

another obvious one, right??? the question is, which Olsen Twin are you? That should be the quiz...

oh now I am off to google that and distract myself some more.

xoxo

Dear (Insert Name Here)

Dear Barbara Walters

so today is the big day I guess...you announce who is going to replace..............snore...........zzzzzzzzz

what oops, sorry, I fell asleep thinking about "The View" and what a miserable and boring excuse for why women have the reputation for being annoying and crazy, seriously it's like watching a bad sitcom about pregnancy and menopause.

While having a discussion with my bubs last night the subject of "The View" came up, and now I have a little pitch for you...

ditch all those tired hags you have on there now, we need a little fresh blood, they should be replaced with...

me, Posh Spice, Sarah Jessica Parker, Tina Turner, and Michelle Tanner

please note the when I say Michelle Tanner, I do mean that one of the Olsen Twins will be on the show at all times, but we will just trade them out for one another on various days...or hell even during the show, it will be a fun game...because let's face it....no one can tell them apart, not really...I love those bitches and I'm still thinking to myself, wait which one is the suicidal one???

So that should be the "New View", I think it has all the makings of a mid morning ratings power house....oh and my bubs said that the line up would have to change for one day each year (his birthday) then the line up would be...

me, Sarah Jessica Parker who will keep me company while he stares at Andie MacDowell (his long time movie bubs), and Reese Witherspoon (his new movie bubs)

I know what your thinking Babs (mind if I call you that?) you're thinking where the hell is sweet Angie Jolie...well we thought about that, and came to the realization that we don't want a bunch of kids trolling about, so she's out!!!

One final thing, one final plea as a present to my Bubs...there used to be a "Man View" on...it had a bunch of F-Listers on it...what happened to that show? For the record, I would like to publicly declare that it should be brought back, with the following line up (line up courtesy of my bubs who put A LOT of thought into it).

My Bubs (he would be the "Barbara Walters" only on the show sometimes), Sir Ian McKellen, Billy Zane, Harvey Pekar, and (Big Fat) Toby Keith (TK!)

so there you have it....today you will announce the new co-host and it will be boring and safe and menopausal....all rolled up into one non threatening slightly over weight package...

So I beg of you one last time, consider my options...don't make me go to another network with this sweet idea!!

love
Jennifer Gordon

Dear (Insert Name Here) Week....something or other

Dear Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen

what's up bitches??????

First and foremost I am just going to come right out and say, that I totally love you two. I could pretend to be all cool and say that I have only come to adore you once you hit "adulthood" and became fashion mavens, but I know in my heart that is not true.

You see I have a very vivid memory of being at an 8th grade dance, it was a Friday night and I was having a miserable time standing off to the side all geeky and forlorn with no one to dance with (except Karl, the kid with the bright red hair and stutter, but he would dance with anyone) and I very clearly remember leaning over to my equally geeky female friend and saying "I can't believe I am missing 'Full House' for this.

So you see, I am an old school fan.

So yesterday my bf (aka, my bubs) was home from work due to a thumb being "almost" cut off, and since he was home and feeling bad, he did what he always does, watches Godzilla movies.

Yesterday's fine piece of Japanese cinema was Godzilla Vs. The Sea Monster....I sort of like this one myself, not because of the giant crab like sea monster but because Mothra is in it, and when there's Mothra, there are the "Mothra Twins" or if you want to be specific about it they are actually the Mothra Fairies.

Anyway....right when I saw them the thought came to me that someone should re-make this movie and that you beauties should play the twins....

seriously I think it would be the highest grossing movie of all time.

I think if you could get John Stamos to play Godzilla in a combination of CGI and voice acting that would be so fierce, and maybe Bob Saget could play the giant crab like Sea Monster....and as for Mothra you could get that guy who played "Joey" on Full House, Dave what's his name...the one that Alanis Morrisette wrote all those songs about, so not only would you tap into the whole Godzilla subculture, but you would be giving the fans of Full House the reunion movie they've been clamoring for.

Get Quentin Tarrantino to direct and you are sure be #1 at the Box Office for at least 1 if not 2 weeks.

in all seriousness, I love you...Mary Kate more than Ashley (today at least)

love,
Jennifer Gordon

Creative Blocks And A Plan To Take Over The World

that's too funny, when I typed that title I imagined that I was the Brain on that show "pinky and the Brain"...does anyone remember that?

anyone? anyone?

ok, moving on....Good morning!!

So I am off to late late start this morning as I could hardly drag myself out of bed, even the bubs slept in with me until about 7:30 before he dashed out...thankfully he made coffee before he left or I would have had no incentive to get up.

I can almost hear my drunken Grandma right now calling me a "lazy bones"

Last night I had a meeting of the minds and artistic summit with the very talented Miss Jennifer Kerr, we actually went high class last night and went to McCormick's, in hopes of getting my bubs discount, which didn't happen so he is going to yell at them today.

The night was a much needed night out, and it was fun to be able to chat with someone about all things collage, mixed media, etsy, and starving artist related.

We started a game plan people so you better watch out,, we're going to first take over the city...then the damn world, like the Olsen Twins. Except instead of hot fashions and handfuls of cash we're armed with collage supplies and canvas...

In all seriousness, it was a much needed reprieve from the daily hermit life.

So I have been struggling with a bit of a creative slump for a little while now, it is almost intangible...I can't figure out what it is.

A couple weeks ago everything I looked at was inspiring to me...and then last week and into this week it has been a little harder.

So, I took some wonderful advice from someone and tried something new....to cure my creative block, I decided to make...blocks.

I am now totally in love with them and plan on making more. I can just imagine them in little groups on a desk or shelf, I love to rearrange them in different order, just doing that makes the pieces tell a different story, I know I am totally geeked up by it, but I have not been this excited about a little artsy something since I started doing art cards a couple years ago....well actually I got all excited about pendants the same way too.

So anyway, the set that I have featured today is called "A Slightly Hinted At Memory" and it's available in my shop.

I also received in the mail last night....the Etsy Collaborative Journal....it is an ongoing art journal project, so I need to get the creative juices flowing for that too.

ok, darling ones, get your thinking caps on, tomorrow we write our letters to celebs, again I am a bit torn on who I want to write to, right now it's a toss up between Martin Scorsese and Giselle.
