Creative Blocks And A Plan To Take Over The World

that's too funny, when I typed that title I imagined that I was the Brain on that show "pinky and the Brain"...does anyone remember that?

anyone? anyone?

ok, moving on....Good morning!!

So I am off to late late start this morning as I could hardly drag myself out of bed, even the bubs slept in with me until about 7:30 before he dashed out...thankfully he made coffee before he left or I would have had no incentive to get up.

I can almost hear my drunken Grandma right now calling me a "lazy bones"

Last night I had a meeting of the minds and artistic summit with the very talented Miss Jennifer Kerr, we actually went high class last night and went to McCormick's, in hopes of getting my bubs discount, which didn't happen so he is going to yell at them today.

The night was a much needed night out, and it was fun to be able to chat with someone about all things collage, mixed media, etsy, and starving artist related.

We started a game plan people so you better watch out,, we're going to first take over the city...then the damn world, like the Olsen Twins. Except instead of hot fashions and handfuls of cash we're armed with collage supplies and canvas...

In all seriousness, it was a much needed reprieve from the daily hermit life.

So I have been struggling with a bit of a creative slump for a little while now, it is almost intangible...I can't figure out what it is.

A couple weeks ago everything I looked at was inspiring to me...and then last week and into this week it has been a little harder.

So, I took some wonderful advice from someone and tried something new....to cure my creative block, I decided to make...blocks.

I am now totally in love with them and plan on making more. I can just imagine them in little groups on a desk or shelf, I love to rearrange them in different order, just doing that makes the pieces tell a different story, I know I am totally geeked up by it, but I have not been this excited about a little artsy something since I started doing art cards a couple years ago....well actually I got all excited about pendants the same way too.

So anyway, the set that I have featured today is called "A Slightly Hinted At Memory" and it's available in my shop.

I also received in the mail last night....the Etsy Collaborative Journal....it is an ongoing art journal project, so I need to get the creative juices flowing for that too.

ok, darling ones, get your thinking caps on, tomorrow we write our letters to celebs, again I am a bit torn on who I want to write to, right now it's a toss up between Martin Scorsese and Giselle.

I love Pinky and the Brain....anything Animaniacs related actually.

I love the collage blocks! They are fantastic. I recently had to shake the creative juices up by doing different things...it really does work.

I've already started mentally composing my celebrity letter, so I'm ready this week.

Exactly what would spice up my boring empty office with gray walls and gray carpet.
