* * *

good morning...

uh oh....this does not bode well, when I went to type a cute title for this morning's post...I had nothing, total and complete writers block.

apologies in advance if this goes astray somewhere.

So yesterday I wrote too soon about how well I was feeling because no sooner than I was done typing when I got very sick again, though by about 11 or 12 I was feeling better and was able to work all day!!

That was the first day that I was able to work all day, no time to lie down and read, just work, work all day.

It was also the first days I did not have any kind of creative block, in fact there was not enough time to do all I wanted to do.

So, though I have writers block thins morning, I seem to be over (knock wood) my creative block.

I stayed up to the wee hours last night finishing "The Other Boleyn Girl" and I am still very much caught in its spell...I need a new book, and quick.

I am hoping my bubs and I will be able to head out later to find something for me...we have a zillion things to do, none of which are fun, all of which involve going to places we hate (Post Office...Bank...grocery store).

So please, let the book suggestions come rolling in!! I will tell you honestly that I am leaning towards just getting another of Patricia Gregory's books, because I am totally enthralled with the whole "court" books, and I am thinking that I might need to read her book about Elizabeth I...though I would really like to read about Marie Antionette too, so here's your chance...load me up with suggestions.

also please take into consideration that I will be going to a used book store to buy the book, so nothing that just came out please.

I know two people told me to get The Time Travelers Wife, but I will be honest...when I saw the word time travel...I was really put off, I know , I know...I shouldn't be.

OK book guidelines...

NO science fiction
NO fantasy (though I do like King Arthur kinds of things)
NO romance
NO bad Horror (Dean Koontz and Steven King I am talking to you)
NO books that could be made into Lifetime movies...so no women getting beat by their hubby's then finding strength to move on...
NO HARRY POTTER (I am not dissing the potter, but I just don't want it)

I do like historical fiction especially things that are "class dramas", I am fascinated with all of that.

I also like books about the fashion industry (duh).

Oh, and speaking of "class" I am thinking of retiring my Prada Purse for the summer, yes, I know it's a shock to me too...but I am leaning towards getting something hand made at etsy, though I have no money....so I believe that I might offer up original artwork as a trade for a cute bag.

If that doesn't work, I will sell my soul for an adorable purse.

so yesterday I spent most of the day working on the piece I have shown here...this was just a quick photo of it I took last night, it is listed in my etsy shop . It is called "Lavinia".

I sketched out the idea before I started but as I was doing it I was feeling really good about it, proud of the fact that it was different than what I have been doing lately, it feels good to be trying something new, though when I was making it all I could think was "what if people hate it", I usually don;t think things like that, I did show this piece to darling Aimee last night and she gave it a wonderful response so I am feeling better about it now.

ok, tomorrow we are writing to celebrities, so get your thinking caps on my lovelies.

until then, a million kisses and a million hugs.

Creative Blocks And A Plan To Take Over The World

that's too funny, when I typed that title I imagined that I was the Brain on that show "pinky and the Brain"...does anyone remember that?

anyone? anyone?

ok, moving on....Good morning!!

So I am off to late late start this morning as I could hardly drag myself out of bed, even the bubs slept in with me until about 7:30 before he dashed out...thankfully he made coffee before he left or I would have had no incentive to get up.

I can almost hear my drunken Grandma right now calling me a "lazy bones"

Last night I had a meeting of the minds and artistic summit with the very talented Miss Jennifer Kerr, we actually went high class last night and went to McCormick's, in hopes of getting my bubs discount, which didn't happen so he is going to yell at them today.

The night was a much needed night out, and it was fun to be able to chat with someone about all things collage, mixed media, etsy, and starving artist related.

We started a game plan people so you better watch out,, we're going to first take over the city...then the damn world, like the Olsen Twins. Except instead of hot fashions and handfuls of cash we're armed with collage supplies and canvas...

In all seriousness, it was a much needed reprieve from the daily hermit life.

So I have been struggling with a bit of a creative slump for a little while now, it is almost intangible...I can't figure out what it is.

A couple weeks ago everything I looked at was inspiring to me...and then last week and into this week it has been a little harder.

So, I took some wonderful advice from someone and tried something new....to cure my creative block, I decided to make...blocks.

I am now totally in love with them and plan on making more. I can just imagine them in little groups on a desk or shelf, I love to rearrange them in different order, just doing that makes the pieces tell a different story, I know I am totally geeked up by it, but I have not been this excited about a little artsy something since I started doing art cards a couple years ago....well actually I got all excited about pendants the same way too.

So anyway, the set that I have featured today is called "A Slightly Hinted At Memory" and it's available in my shop.

I also received in the mail last night....the Etsy Collaborative Journal....it is an ongoing art journal project, so I need to get the creative juices flowing for that too.

ok, darling ones, get your thinking caps on, tomorrow we write our letters to celebs, again I am a bit torn on who I want to write to, right now it's a toss up between Martin Scorsese and Giselle.

And So It Is

morning.

I am feeling a bit "off" today, not really sure what exactly it is, just one of those days that I feel so very unlike me.

I think Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's called them the "mean reds", though as I just typed those words it seems like the phrase "mean reds" could also be 1980's cold war lingo for those naughty communists.

Do you ever have those days when you feel all jittery inside? Like your heart is all a flutter, and not in a first love kind of way, but in a about to go to the doctors kind of way.

well that is how I am feeling, just anxious I guess, but anxious for what I have no idea.

I am feeling like I have too much to do....or not enough to do, it's hard to tell, anyway...I feel like I am floundering a bit.

Yesterday I worked for the majority of the day finishing the two pieces for the commission project for Tanekeya, I am really proud of them, I have enough materials to do a couple more as well, maybe to list for public sale in my shop, for some reason I was feeling very drawn to these pieces...

ok, now I am going to do something I hate doing but I just have to....I have to blog about TV for a minute....

Heroes was so good last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can;t stress that enough, I actually found myself clapping at one point and getting all teared up at the end. For those of you who don;t watch the show, you really need to, though it will be impossible to catch up now...so wait for DVD.

It really is like watching a wonderful comic book come to life on the screen each week, just fantastic, plus check out the picture of my new boyfriend....um, is it me or is he just the most perfectly crafted person you have ever seen?

I mean seriously he looks like a piece of art.

There is one giant draw back to watching Heroes, is that before it is on...you have to suffer though Deal or No Deal (or as my bubs calls that show "Fat People Getting All Jazzed Up), now I am sure you are thinking, why do I have it on, why not keep the tv off until 9:00...

well you see, I tried that, but I am very anti clock, we have one in the bedroom but that is it, and without a clock I always was missing the first 10 minutes at least, so I always end up watching abit of the Deal show (which I loathe).

A way to get through that show though is every time they pan over to one of the "models" I make up what their career was before they hit it big on "Deal"...

like, Oh she was a hostess at TGI Fridays or she did nails at a Korean run salon in a strip mall next to a Fashion Bug...

I think my Bubs thinks I have some sort of Turrets Syndrome, but usually he just smiles and nods.

well I will leave you with that, I must get some work done...(by work I mean read a whole bunch of blogs), I am not feeling very inspired today, last week everything was inspiring me...and now I feel like I have nothing left to give.

It will change, it always does.

thanks for reading this, I will try my hardest to be a little less whiny tomorrow...

oh, and I am still on the Etsy Showcase today, so I am running a little surprise sale in my shop because of that...

15% off your entire purchase today, you just need to write "Showcase" in the message to seller section and I will send you a new invoice.
