My Studio is my cocoon!

seriously after a particularly dreadful day yesterday (weather wise) my bubs and I caved in and treked out in the freezing rain to get.....a space heater.

Man, it's seriously the best thing, ever. I want to have it strapped to me always.

Now, yes, I understand that I am using a ton of electricity but really it is a lot cheaper than heating this giant house with our gas heat.

I think this is going to make it a lot easier for me to not leave my studio during the day, before I was prone to wandering the house and turning on the heat, and while downstairs well, I would turn on Martha Stewart and have peanut butter toast, then some cocoa.

You see how that can eat up ones day.

in all seriousness this will help, as of tomorrow when I get a giant order in from Dick Blick...I am commission girl for the next long while, I have three amazing projects that I am working on right now for people, it's been amazing.

also......in more shop news, some of you may have noticed already but I have new mini blank notecards available, I posted them late Saturday and I have already sold almost half my stock of them since then, so snatch them up now while you still can.

I also have a new sticker set, round gift tags, and I am in the process of getting more prints made...oh and another thing. mini note pads, cool idea huh....wait they are even cooler....they are shaped like a giant matchbook. The are about 3"x3" and so cute a great thing to slip in a tiny bag or to give as a stocking stuffer!!!

The gift tags and notepads are not listed as I type this, but will be listed later today, all quantities are limited so get them quick. The note pads are all one of a kind!!

wow, this has been an awful lot of shop talk this morning, which is too bad. I had one of those weekends that I did not want to end, we did nothing spectacular except just hang out, we watched a movie we went to bed early, slept in and had special breakfast on Sunday.

all parts heavenly.

ok, now off to start my day.

how was your weekend??? (see it's not ALL about me)

:)

I think your rain has found it's way to me.

Personally, I love electric heat. We just installed it this year. It's definitely more affordable and more efficient for us.

Can I be as good at stuff as you when I grow up?! lol.

I think you've inspired me, JftB. I may have to get a small space heater for my room.

Oh, plus all your art and stuff inspires me, too. ;)

Happy Monday, J! It was great talking to you Friday. Miss you.

I think we have steam heat, I am not sure, my building is super old all I know is its constantly on and super-hot that I actually open the windows during the winter. Sad and such a waste, but its not controlled individually. Of course, I love it each and everytime I come in from the brrrr cold.

I had one of those weekends, too. I had 2 days to do whatever so I sewed, listened to music, drank hot cider, saw some music. No rain here, but it's chilly now. Congratulations on the heating investment. **love your note cards!

Have you ever seen the personal air conditioning system from Sharper Image? Well, it's ridiculous (like most things from Sharper Image) but I was thinking, if they made a little heater like that, that I could wear around all the time...I'd probably get it.
So, I can relate. Enjoy your new heater!

I'm still having my weekend (thank goodness for banker's schedules, so it's all good, I finished a small portrait which is an accomplishment for me.

Love your note cards-they are so inspiring and original. I hope Martha and peanut butter toast doesn't distract you too much today and you create away, nice and toasty (with the new heater)!

Yaaay for the new heater! I can imagine that must be a great investment. Our house too is freezng - see the similarities in our lives again - we move around the same time to houses which are deathly cold in winter. My sweetheart too does not seem to notice the cold meanwhile I am dressed in about 45 layers of clothing!

the notecards are just wonderful and all the other goodies sound spectacular too. Good luck with the commissions!

I'm glad you're cozy. Oh, and I totally got the hint from the comment you sent me... You are an inspiration to my online shopping, I just may not get around to it for a while. I'll keep checking though, something might just make the perfect fit!

Love all the shop updates! Love the notecards. I would be getting some to have for my very own but am dangerously low on fundage. The story of my life. :)

It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! I had an OK one...although my sleep sucked...I am thinking about getting a space heater because last night I lay huddled under ALL the blankets and yelled for the cat to earn her keep...and keep me warm...

she ignored me.

In the past two weeks, I have subsisted almost entirely off of peanut butter toast and hot chocolate. It is not svelte-making, but it sure is delicious.
