slowly

morning

well I am slowly returning to "normal", being the featured seller was a short but wild ride and I am still digging out from the massive amount of orders in a short period of time, I would be done but having the mean cheese this weekend ensures that very little work can get done, couple that with a horrible cold on my part....well sadly things have been miserable.

Shop news!

ok things in my shop that are "new", I do have lots of new originals that went up around the time of being featured seller, I also have some new reproduction prints, many of my reproductions that I already had are sold out, or close to being sold out, so if there were ones you wanted snatching them up now might be a good idea, as some of the designs are really close to vanishing.

Mixed Emotions volume I is completely sold out of it's limited run of 20 books, of you missed out on the book I am very sorry, though....Mixed Emotions volume II is currently available, and this one is just as beautiful, please feel free to send me a convo or email if you want to know which pieces are included I do have a thumbnail pic, I know other people like to be surprised so I did not want to post it here.

Supplies
....I have gotten more vintage optical lenses and I still have some old keys and more old letters will be added soon, currently I am totally in love with anything with optical lenses AND keys, combine the two and I am in heaven.

ok, so how are all of you?? I will be honest and say that life after being the featured seller has had that day after Christmas feeling, there is a bittersweet relaxation to it being done, but that anticipation and rush of excitement are gone, and I would be a liar if I said I did not miss it, though now it's time to focus on feeling better and the puppy and my poor bubs who is also sick.

so..............

Good morning.

so as many of you know by now, the reason for my most recent absence from my blog is that I have been named the featured seller on etsy.

I got the news late last week and then started preparing right away.

I wanted to say right now that I am so happy, it's strange, I never thought it would happen to me, but it did....

very surreal.

anyway if you have not gotten the chance head over to etsy and read my interview.

For those of you who have sent me convos and emails, thank you so much, I never expected such a response from people, I have to say that is truly my favorite part of this whole thing.

I will probably not be blogging again until Petite Heights on Sunday, but then back to normal next week.

xoxo

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning!

Happy Valentine's Day to you all!!!

I know there are lots of Valentine Humbugs out there but you must forgive me, I love, love...so this is one of my favorite days.

I was not always like this remember I did survive a disaster of a first marriage so I too have had plenty of "I hate Valentine's Day" moments.

Now...it's not that keith and I are doing anything special, remember he works is a nice restaurant, where tonight they have over 400 reservations, so by the time he gets home he will be tired, but he will be home, with me...and that my dear friends is why Valentine's this year is wonderful!

Are you all doing anything romantic???

oh, before I forget...my book....I am very quickly running out of them as I decided to do only a print run of 20 on them to keep them rare and collectible.

I am on book 16 now, so if you are interested I would snatch them up.

ok sorry to post and dash but I hear a puppy barking like a lunatic downstairs AND I have some work to do today as well as a Valentine to make.

I also posted a new piece in my shop, that I just love, it is called "The Ghost on Nantucket Island"

Dum Dum De Dum...Part 2 - The Dress!

morning!

so I am a wee bit groggy this morning, you see last night my friend Diana and I went out and braved the very very cold to looking for wedding dresses...

as you can see from the photos.

now, those of you following my blog will notice that it is not the original dress that I had wanted, well sometimes things change, and for the better.

you see I tried on a ton of dresses....and damn wedding wedding dresses for running so small it really gave me a complex about my body...but whatevs...

anyway, I tried on the original dress and it was beautiful, very princess and lovely....but, standing there in front of a jillion mirrors looking like a princess, I realized. I am not really a princess type of person, am I??

Wearing that original dress was wonderful and it liiked beautiful, but it looked like a costume, like I was dressing up for Halloween.

But when I tried this dress, that I originally did not care for in the photos or on the hanger...

well it was a f-ing Cindarella moment, first of all, the dress fit beautifully, seriously the only thing I am going to need altered is the hem.

The line of the dress has a very slight Asian feel...it's subtle, but it makes me feel like old Hollywood glamor and less of a fairy princess....and most importantly it seems very wearable.

My friend Diana made a great point, that first beautiful dress was also amazing, but my figure was lost in it, drowning in layers and layers of fabric...which I think it what I wanted it for....but this new dress, well you see my figure in it, which is good, right?

(low self esteem creeping in)

It comes with a little caplet/shawl and I went for the old Hollywood gloves.

now.....I need to get back there ASAP for the alterations appointment which means I need shoes and all my under dress wear...pronto!

so there you have it.

After trying on a ton of dresses we decided to have a late dinner and some wine, so this morning I am sleepy, and cold....

even though I am sleepy and cold I have to resist all urges to run in the other room and put on the dress...and sit here, and read blogs...

I think I am going to want to do this every day until the wedding.

the mean cheese - scribble war

good morning

how were all of your weekends???

well this weekend we had the lil mean cheese and it was her first full weekend with the puppy and let me just say this....it was a loud weekend.

By the end things were "more normal" but there were times....oh man.

now the cheese and scribble were great with each other, all things considering, the mean cheese was only rough with him a couple times, pulling his tail and once shoving the little guy....but she does not really "understand" but we are trying to make her.

lil scribble pup was good with her, he never snapped or barked, even when for 2 hours she taunted the poor beat in his crate while we he was trying to sleep...when we tried to take her away from him she would yell at the top of her lungs...which proved to be most upsetting for the dog and the humans of the house.

so....by the time last night rolled around we had a very tired little puppy and 2 equally tired puppy parents.

That was primarily the weekend, you see it is really cold here, like single digits and harsh wind....so it feels much below zero and it is too cold to do anything, and of course today I ran out of cocoa....you see I was having double the cocoa this weekend to beat the cold, and the screaming stress tends to make me head for sweets.

So today I must get down to work, I have lots of things I want to make and last week was filled with commissions so it was hard to build up more stock for my shop.

plus I am trying to work on something special for jody....it's like nothing I have ever tried before, so wish me luck.

I am hoping later today to have a couple new prints for my shop as well, which I am excited about.

so.................

SO yesterday, I think I cracked under the pressure...what pressure you may be asking....well, the pressure I put on myself.

you see....I blogged yesterday, twice in fact but as you can see now I deleted them both.

1st I blogged a celeb letter, it was hilarious and about Brooke Shields, and it of course led to a negative comment left by anonymous...which really once again was devastating to me, this being my blog and my forum.

If people do not like the letters or my blog I would hope they would stop reading instad of coming here and spewing negativity.

now because this "anonymous" won't ever give their name, I am not sure...is it the same person all the time, is it a group of people that just hate me.

now I would be lying if I said I did not care, I do...that is the problem, but I am trying to just get over it.

Now.....yesterday and all this week and last week I have been incredibly busy working on lots of projects, one being quite large and it took a lot out of me, more than I thought it could so I have been living without my "wall of protection" around me, I have been vulnerable...so when the comment happened I deleted.

Then I wrote a post apologizing for the letter....that met with a lot of response as well....(which I love by the way....you loyal readers are wonderful), the people that told me to never apologize and never stop just being me....and you know what you were the ones that were right, not anonymous....

so, then I deleted my apology.

SO there you have it. In case you were wondering if you were here and saw things that now are not here.

I should not have to apologize for things on my own blog, especially for jokes...jokes that are not hurting anyones feelings....and if you don't like it then maybe those people should spend their time writing mean letters to David Letterman, of Conan O'Brian, or John Stewart or any other countless comedian who uses satire as a way to make people laugh.

ok, moving on.......................how are all of you?? Good??

I have been overwhelmed by the response to my limited edition self published art book - Mixed Emotions . Thank you all....as it stands there are very few left of this book coming in, so if you are thinking you NEED to have one, then you should snag one now.

Though....if you miss out don't despair there will be another book coming sometime, again it will be limited edition and again all books will be ever so slightly different and come numbered.

also be on the lookout there will be more Moleskine sketchbooks coming too.....starting today and tomorrow there will be another batch, the last ones went pretty quickly.

ok now I must do the million things I have to do today and with any luck I just might be able to get some creative time in tomorrow.

xoxo

lots and lots

good morning~~

I have been a bad blogger and blog friend again, you see all the times that I would be in bloglandia, I now find myself with the pup, mister Scribble Gerard (Gerard is said with a thick French accent...my bubs hates it).

The pup is doing well, most of the time....he did have a trying day yesterday when he got so excited to see me, and when I say me, I mean the dog food I was holding, he started to hop on his back legs, like a circus bear...he hopped and hopped and then he fell backwards into his water dish knocking it over and covering him and the floor with a giant splash of water...the poor funny face just shivered and whimpered. I of course panicked and scooped him into my arms and immediately dashed for a cozy towel to blanket him in before he got too cold.

:(

So anyway this weekend apart from dog playing I also hit a huge milestone and got to click off something (sort of) from my New Year's list.

first, I hit 2000 sales in my shop, which is seriously hard to believe on every level, I know I need to thank so many of you for helping me get to this point, I think of all my wonderful buyers and friends everyday and how lucky I am that whatever I am doing is speaking to some of you.

Second I spent a ton of time this weekend working on a book...yes a book of my art.

Now, one of my resolutions this year was to self publish a book of my poetry and art, and this...well this is a step in the right direction.

This book will be just art, no poetry yet.

I am really excited, the pictures today show the cover and a hint of the interior.

now the book will measure 7x7 inches and will be in full color, pages are full bleed with the photos. The books will be VERY limited and will all come signed and numbered, and with an original aceo...tucked in the pages somewhere as a surprise....hey you can even use it as a book mark.

anyway, the books themselves will arrive in about 2 weeks, a little less if I am lucky. I am hoping too that i will be able to get a series of these books.

The book itself it titled "Mixed Emotions" and it will be available in my shop for "Pre Orders" starting today at 9:00am EST.

ok that is all for now, my brain is a little fuzzy as my bubs and I went for dinner and drinks last night and it's been a while since I drank a couple glasses of wine.

xoxoxo
