My Bubs-aversary + 1

Happy Saint Patrick's Day to you all...though not being Irish it's not a HUGE day for me....I am more focused on yesterday as that was my four year bubs-aversary (that is anniversary in Jenn-speak).

yup 4 years to the day since I got off the plane the first time in this fair (fat) city....and my bubs and I made our relationship more "official" as opposed to the emotional gray area it existed in in the months before that.

SO there you have it, now we are 4 years later and so close to him making an honest woman out of me...no more "milk for free" of you will.

(I hate that saying, why does the woman have to be the cow?)

So now that we are in crunch time for the wedding I felt I should give you all a little update as to where I am....no, I have not gotten my dress altered, but I will this week, I talked to a wonderful seamstress a block from me and her turnaround time is quick, so I am not worried.

I got my corset to wear under the dress and it is fiercely sexy and does the job of keeping my stomach in and my boobs up.

I got my shoes...now this was a nightmare as all the "bride" shoes were just so dreadful, I swear any kind of dye-able shoe was just ugly and boring...so instead I went out on my own sans bridal shop urgings and bought a pair of hot shoes that cannot be dyed BUT, they do match my gloves, so it will be fine.

My wedding bands are ordered and in the process of being made (yay).

Now the only hurdle (major) is getting my mom out here, as plans changed unexpectedly late last night and now my mom needs to get a plane ticket ASAP....so once I can call her I will buy her ticket, so with any luck I will have her ticket purchase today.

phew....

now we have some other major puppy things that need to be done before the wedding too, like getting the little bugger groomed and then...fixed. Yup, that was me whisper typing "fixed" so he does not hear me, or know his fate. We want to get it done before the wedding and everyone visits and also done with enough time for him to heal between mean cheese visits as she won;t understand that he is sore and needs to not be poked, pulled, or screamed at.

SO that's that....oh, and I need to finish my taxes.

sigh

this is why I am up at night crying and having panic...it's all coming up so fast and truthfully I am not sure how it can all be done, on any level. Financially it's a lot....and we are having a teeny tiny little wedding, I am amazed every day that people can afford larger weddings at all and still manage to pay their bills, how do they do it? They must have super powers or something.

ok...babble, babble, babble...

with that I have to announce I am having a special sale in my shop to help ease the cost of the wedding and the puppy "procedure"

Happy Valentine's Day to you all!!!

I know there are lots of Valentine Humbugs out there but you must forgive me, I love, love...so this is one of my favorite days.

I was not always like this remember I did survive a disaster of a first marriage so I too have had plenty of "I hate Valentine's Day" moments.

Now...it's not that keith and I are doing anything special, remember he works is a nice restaurant, where tonight they have over 400 reservations, so by the time he gets home he will be tired, but he will be home, with me...and that my dear friends is why Valentine's this year is wonderful!

Are you all doing anything romantic???

oh, before I forget...my book....I am very quickly running out of them as I decided to do only a print run of 20 on them to keep them rare and collectible.

I am on book 16 now, so if you are interested I would snatch them up.

ok sorry to post and dash but I hear a puppy barking like a lunatic downstairs AND I have some work to do today as well as a Valentine to make.

valentine's day

well...I am cheating, it is not yet midnight and I am writing my blog for the morning, you see I will have to dash to the comic shop tomorrow and was not sure how much time I would have to be thoughtful in the morning...

so with that I say....how are all you doing today, my dear sweet valentine darlings???

we have been blasted by ice and snow the past two days so I am feeling anxious, somewhere between The Shining and Doctor Zhivago....

at the current time of writing this 11:47pm on the 13th, our ghetto neighbors are playing some "music" very loudly...

that must be the sounds of seduction they are trying to hide....ewwww.

gross.

my bubs and I had a mini Valentine ceremony during the day, between shoveling breaks for him, he gave me a wonderful card and he melted chocolate onto a plate and put little heart shape sweet cakes on a little dish and presented it to me while I was online "working"....sure they were sweet cakes of the Little Debbie variety...but it was so beautiful, I gobbled them up so quick and then the plate was just a mess, I should have had some bit of self control and taken a photo of it, as it was beautiful.

he says he is not romantic, but he is, that proved it, as if carrying my photo around with him for 12 years didn't prove it...lol...(seriously he still has my picture....it was like I was Nicole Kidman in Cold Mountain).

I will not go on and on about my bubs, though I could...and someday I will, I will tell our story, though some of you know it because you read my comic and some of you know it because you lived through it (especially you Aaron).

but that will be a tale for another time...

oh, seeing as today is Valentine's Day that means that this is the last "official" day for you to use the Valentine07 code to get 20% off in my etsy shop.

I have been filling my shop with lots of things, a new mini journal is in, as well as the second painting in my "Through The Looking Glass" series.

It is titled "Becoming Alice" and it is a companion piece for my Becoming Imaginary piece. They work as single pieces very beautifully and together they are wonderful. I have been re-imagining the Alice in Wonderland myth, thinking of who I would be if I were her...if that makes any sense.

I tried to capture a living breathing storybook.

oh, speaking of dreams.....I finally was able to get a Treasury list on Etsy...I have never been able to get one before, but I finally did. I got to pick beautiful items and put them all together to tell a story.

like a collage, anyway...I titled the list Day Dream and I attached a screen shot of it too (sorry this is just for blogger and typepad readers...as those on my myspace blog know....I can't do the picture thing, so you will just have to click on the links...
