lots of words

good day to you all

so yesterday I woke up only to find that most of the lights in our apartment had burned out...I swear i think our sockets or outlets or whatever they are just "burn hotter" than they are supposed to, our lights are always burning out...

so why am I giving you this pointless information....because of all the lights being burned out, that made taking new photos of pieces to list on etsy...well, just impossible.

So today, I will be taking a million photos and listing a boatload on etsy, we have the mean cheese this weekend so there will be no "work" time for me.

I also really, really, really wanted to thank everyone for their comments yesterday, it really means a lot. My mom and I have had our fair share of issues in the past and there were times when I have sworn off her completely...but the past few years have really opened my eyes to so many things.

She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer almost 3 years ago, she beat it, but it was still in many ways a wake up call...more so I think for me than her.

My mother, in all her ways...just wants to love me, that's all nothing more and nothing less...my problem is letting her love me. I used to think my problem was letting myself love her, but I don;t think that's it, I think I just need to let her love me, the way she can.

I think I will write her a letter, and send her a little package of stuff...though even typing this I know just that process will be hard for me, letting her in, letting her see that vulnerability that I try so very hard to hide.

wish me luck.

ok, wow again this post is all over the place, that's what I get for sitting down to blog with no clear idea in my head about what to write about...

I do need to say a bunch of stuff that I know no one cares about but me.....but I need to get it out.

What a bid week in my little world of comics....sigh...I know, I know I am a huge geek, but please I have not gotten a new fashion magazine in ages (like almost a week)...

ok so there are only two more issues of Strangers In Paradise left before it is done forever, I really, really don't think I can handle it, every time it comes in I start crying before I even open the book, needless to say the book it all heart wrenching and intangible ache at this point...damn Terry Moore for being so talented.

also.....in the DC Comics world....F*#K!!! They killed off Isis in 52....I am not happy.

oh and in the Marvel universe, they killed off Captain America, which has been all hyped in all the damn newspapers, I believe the local paper out here actually somehow tied the death of Captain America in with America's War on Terror...like it was damn Osama that shot him...whatever, I know he's not dead, and technically I don;t even like him, but come on!!!

ok, I am done with the comic stuff, thanks for reading it, but I just have to get it out or else it will make my head actually explode.

And, last but not least...I am at 749 sales in my Etsy Shop, which means my 750th sale will be getting not one, but two free art cards (they are a set and they are adorable), so whoever buys the 750th piece sold will get extra goodies.

I like to give stuff away, it makes me feel like Elvis when he would give away Cadillacs...

ok, that is enough ramble for this morning, thank you all for listening/reading...I love each and everyone of you for it, if I met you in "real life" I would give you each a big squeeze and kisses.

the piece I am featuring today is a new Marilyn Collage...it is Called "This Was All She Wanted"

Things I Can and Can't Say

morning!

So yesterday didn't go according to plan at all, it was supposed to be the day that I work at the shop, but of course, UPS missed one of our boxes on the loading dock and the books didn't show up...so yesterday just became a confusing mess of yuck, with a little more yuck thrown on top of that.

(sigh)

Also, because it snowed (AGAIN) yesterday we decided not to travel to Andyman's Treehouse for Keith to play, the roads were bad, so it is postponed until next week. I am so sick of the fact that it has snowed every Wednesday for the past two months, that is our day together and we are sort of trapped in our neighborhood when it happens.

You see, in Columbus, they don't plow 90% of the streets they just wait for it to either melt, or become a giant thick layer of ice, which is what it usually turns into.

I feel bad for the Somalians (we have the second largest population of them in the country) most of them have never seen never mine driven in the snow...it makes for more car accidents than I have even seen in my life.

Last year a woman drove into the house across the street from ours, yes...INTO the house..I always see it on the news but I actually got to see it in person.

So I talked to my Mommy the other day, and it was wonderful and altogether sad all at once. My mom is one part Forest Gump and the second part Blanche Dubois...which makes any conversation with her sweet and a little sad all at once.

I know I have talked of our conversation about watching tv, and how she doesn't understand that I watch 2 shows...that's it.

When I talked to her she went on and on about Anna Nicole Smith...she is now totally obsessed with the whole thing, I haven't seen her this wrapped up in something since the OJ Simpson Trial, I let her go on about it humoring her and chiming in when I could...but when she was talking about how she could relate to Anna....that I had to change the subject.

The strange thing is, is that I miss my mom, so much sometimes. I mean really, it's almost a tangible thing. I don;t tell her though, and my question is why? Why don't I tell her?

Why is it that I can not express this to her, am I afraid that she will cry, yes, that's part of it. I know I am afraid I will cry...I try to be strong for her and everything, and try so very hard not to think of her being all alone, I try not to think about the fact that I have been a horrible daughter and at times she has been a horrible mother. None of that matters anymore, it's just us, it's just who we are.

She is the only family I have left in this world (besides my bubs of course) and I am so far away...

I need her to know that I love and I miss her, but for whatever reason I can barely say those words and I don't know what to do.

Wow, where did all that come from???? Sorry, I did not intend to write about that, I was oging to write about the fact that my bubs made Mexican food last night and the "cheese" we bought was called "Mexi melt" and it was advertised as imitation "cheese food"...cheese food, that can't be healthy, can it?

Oh and I also wanted to talk about the fact that I saw "The Departed" which I was dying to see because it was just so very "Boston" I also have a total need to see Oscar Winning movies...

Anyway, The Departed was incredible and so deserving of Best Picture this year. I would say more about it but I think I might save it to write in a letter to Martin Scorsese next week.

I spent an awful lot of time working on this piece and I finally listed it for sale in my Etsy shop

I am very proud of it, I just loved the composition of it, I actually sketched it out before I started it, I very rarely do that, but this time I did and it was well worth it I think.

ok, off to the races, I have a million little parcels to package up and more vintage lady art cards to make, as I am so in love with them.

the day after and the day before

good morning darling darlings

off to a late start again today, I blame cursed beast of a poodle that the Lord and Lady Ghetto have....though wait, I take that back, I swore to myself that I was not going to think bad thoughts about them, as yesterday morning my poor bubs was stuck in the ice/snow and could not move he was stuck half in the street and half out, Lord Ghetto in his fur coat and snazzy zippy work out pants came to the rescue and pushed him back safely into the driveway.

so, trying very hard for no mean thoughts.

On the other hand the hillbilly's on the other side entertained me with their quarrels yesterday....sometimes I feel like we are in the eye of a storm, or that we are just the kindly neighbors of the people that they always show on "Cops"...and yes I watch Cops, but only because when we have the mean cheese on the weekend and she demands that the TV is on all the time....

plus, I think she likes it, as the people on Cops look like her Mom and her mom's boyfriend...oh, so very mean of me.

So, did everyone have a nice Valentine's Day???? Comments were few and far between on my blogs yesterday so that leads me to believe that you were all having wonders...or you were all falling into depression, to that I say...snap out of it (like Cher in Moonstruck).

This weekend is slumber party weekend!!!!! Menaing tomorrow morning I will post getting ready for it, if you can make a little mention in your blogs about it.

so far the guest list includes...

aimee
aaron
gillian
ben
karin beth
rebekah
tara
vanessa
Evil Kate

I know there are more....but my brain is not working correctly, I am hoping the lovely risa will pop in too, as well as many many others.

ok, so yesterday was nice, though lonely for most of it because the bubs was at work, but once he got home...well there was niceness, just the us time that we both crave, sometimes I feel like we will never catch up on being together, that the 12 years apart will always make us miss each other all the time...even when we are just apart for a couple hours.

Other than that Iw as super busy yesterday in my etsy shop, I believe it was a record breaking day for me (special big thanks to those people who might very well be lurking).

I also hit a scary milestone, I got to 666 sales and 666 hearts (people that mark me as a favorite) and it happened within a few minute time window....creepy huh? (see Aaron, you were right Valentine's Day is a scary holiday).

I guess maybe my grandma was right about me all the time, I must be a "deviled girl"...she used to say this as she handed me platter of deviled eggs with red sprinkles on them (red sprinkles...I think it's paprika...not sure) she would say "deviled eggs for a deviled girl"....sounds sort of mean yes, but I knew that the red sprinkles on top meant she loved me.

And you want to know something adorable...now my bubs puts the sprinkles on my food too...sure I had to ask at first, but now he does it and says "see, I added sprinkles....

so cute...

Oh, the piece I have featured today (The Simplest of Moments) was the piece I did for this weeks creative challenge, the theme this week was to create something Valentine inspired....so instead of thinking of romantic love, I decided to do the love I have for all of you out there in cyberland, and those of you who are very far away and I miss so very much, so this is inspired by that...I hope you like it. It is available for sale in my etsy shop.

I fancy myself the one in the passenger seat, as I would be singing, and as many of you know me and driving, well that's just a really bad combo.

I think truthfully I am meant to live in another time period, when there were no cars...though in my fantasy land, that time period might not have cars but it does have electricity, running water, makeup, fantastic shoes...and stolen black market handbags that I could buy at the Foreign run mall....though they would of course be less expensive...

I will leave you with that...don't forget to let me know if you will be popping in over the weekend for the big party...I will update the list.

xoxoxoxoxo

(ps, one of the pieces I featured yesterday "Becoming Imaginary, has now sold....Becoming Alice is still available though...)
