Rambling and Wishing You Were All Near

Morning lovelies.

how was your weekend?

mine was sort of blah again, as some of you know we had lil' cheesy, and was sick again, in fact she had just been released from the hospital on Friday shortly before we went to pick her up. Again, I am mortified that Keith's ex did not bother to tell him.........

I could scream, in fact I did scream, you see his ex likes to keep all the misery and heartache to herself, it gives her more attention that way...

ok, sorry, this is not a place for talk of "her"...this is a place of beauty.

Needless to say the mean cheese was still not doing well, and that made for a very stressful and tiring weekend, so by the time we dropped her off I think my bubs and I both needed to get out of the house for a bit.

We went to Barnes and Noble so I could look though the magazines...Oh, it was a treasure trove of new imports, I almost died...I had a pile of magazines all around me, over $100, but then I realized...wait, what are you doing, you have no money...

so I had to tone it down, One of the Magazines I had a was a little import called "Flair " the problem was that is was wrapped in plastic and I could not see what was inside, I would have risked the Barnes and Noble gestapo and ripped the beauty from the plastic, but that's where the price was...and it was only $6.25....much better than the $18.50 for the new issue of Muse.

So I went for it and went home with Flair, all in all it was worth $6.25...though now I am aching about going back to get some more.

When out I also picked up Columbus Alive, one of the city's artsy newspapers...while reading I stumbled upon an article about Columbus Fashion Week.....

what????

Columbus Fashion Week, that's right...we have a fashion week now, this is the first one. It is all week and there are fashion shows every night.....

but here's the problem, they start at 10:00pm each night and they are $20 to get in (per person, per night). That is way too late for my poor bubs as he has to get up early, early to get to the restaurant, and I don't drive....so there's no way to get there, I especially wanted to go to Friday Night's show...

sigh....

It is time's like this that I really wish I had some friends that lived close by (that were interested in this), I have a couple friends out here, but no one that would go to a fashion week anything with me....though I am sure all of you would just jump at the chance...well, maybe not all of you, but most of you would.

right?

Oh, speaking of fashiony things, I bought the most ridiculously adorable skirt on etsy from rebecca, I can't wait to get this and wear it with a little pair of black tights!!! her skirts are adorable and they are priced so wonderfully....I could not stop myself from buying one...

It was beyond my control completely.

ok, well I really should be getting to work, I have a zillion things I feel I need to do, and a zillion more that I actually have to do, I have photos to take for crap to put on ebay (comics and such), I have to call my landlord to come and fix our dishwasher, I have packages to package, and I really need to somehow get past the creative rut I am in...somehow.

I am going to try something new perhaps...at least that is the plan. I am going to try and do a series of collage blocks that will make a mix and match piece of artwork that you can put on a desk or shelf, I am also thinking of making more match boxes, it has been ages since I have made any of those.

I do have one cool piece that I have not listed in my etsy shop yet, I love it it's called BecomingMata Hari...and I will probably list it sometime late this morning, I have been holding off listing it all weekend because I really wanted to blog about it.

ok, must dash.....I need to get of this done during the day as tonight I am having dinner with fellow mixed media artist Jennifer Kerr...we're going for cheap Mexican food...

yummers.

until tomorrow.

xoxo

(sigh)

I have no idea where the morning has gone...already it is quickly approaching 9:00am...

I have spent the morning pouring through the new Etsy Constitution and rules, and then all of a sudden on my second cup of coffee...I remember I had not blogged yet.

eeep.

ok so my morning started out like this...My bubs gets up a little after 6:00 in the morning, I sleep on the outside of our bed, so he has to climb over me to get out. Normally I can feel him coming over me, and I just lay back as he kisses me on the head.

This morning though, I must have been deeper asleep as I did not hear him, and just as he was crawling over me, I turned over and elbowed him right in the eye.

I am an asshole, the poor guy....he just sat there clutching his eye...and of course everyone knows of my eye phobia, so just elbowing him in the eye made me feel like I was about to throw up.

what a pair we were.

SO that was the beginning of my day, in all it's glory.

So, how are all of you? I could be better, eye incident aside, I am still fighting my way through this creative block, I have not been able to do anything for the Creative Challenge yet this week, which I have never missed.

I think I am going to work on some pendants today as I have not been doing those lately and I am almost sold out of them completely.

This weekend is preparing itself to be too chaotic. Keith is working tomorrow and hopefully tomorrow night we can go to Gallery Hop in the Short North, this is something in the 3 years that I have lived here that we have only been able to do one time, as we always have the mean cheese, or the weather is awful...so cross your fingers for me. It's not really Keith's scene, but he likes to go and be with me, plus, I go to Punk Clubs with him, places where the girls actually make out with the homeless people that they let come in and drink for free...

so yeah, we each make our little "sacrifices"...lol.

Then on Sunday we are doing a comic convention, it is small and local which is good, I was so not in the mood to have to make a 2 hour trip to Cleveland....It has been ages and ages since we have dine a convention as dealers (selling crap that's not our art), but it will be fun in a freak watching train wreck kind of way. Comic conventions are where all the pretty people hang out, right?

ok, I really must get some work done now, I am featuring a slew of my new art cards today, these are all available in my shop.
