400!!

Good morning!

so today is my 400th blog post, can you even believe that???? Seems really high, and frankly I am impressed with myself that I have been able to keep it up as long as I have.

though I admit that lately I have been a little less than loyal...but you know this.

speaking of....yesterday I was going to do a celeb letter but then you see I was very distracted by Scribble and his infinite cuteness (an naughtiness)

my bubs and I also found ourselves saying many of the same things to the little puppy that we do to the mean cheese...make us realize just how similar a toddler and a puppy are.

now....please please all you "stiletto haters" out there who think I am mean...I really don't want to hear it, you know it's true anyway.

I mean really....when we have the mean cheese we say the following things all day long...

1- do you need to to potty
2- are you hungry
3- do you want to play
4- do you want to go to bed
5- No...NO!...NO!!!
6- out of your mouth...no....that does not go in your mouth
7- time for medicine
8- no...THIS IS WHERE YOU GO POTTY!!!
9- did you pee
10- you're so cute
11- no biting
12 no scratching

I can go on and on, and I won't bore you with a list of things that we say to Scribble because it's the same damn list.

ok....so I have a couple new reproduction limited edition prints in my shop, I picked them up yesterday from the printer and they are beyond fabulous....They are the images shown above.

ok time for me to give the dog some food and start my day.

love

Shop stuff and other tid bits

Happy Monday everyone!!

Yes, my bubs and I survived another mean cheese weekend, complete with lots of rain...though we did manage to get her our and about to the park a few times...thank god.

Though the unfortunate thing is that the park we live next to is being taken over by horrible "elements", such as drug dealers, and foulmouthed trashy folks...

I know I know, I am a total snob but here me out...this is a little snippet from the park yesterday.

(set the scene, we all went over during a break in the weather...there was no one there...at first)

SO after a bunch of time of us watching the mean cheese as she runs amuck, we notice an enormous pack of people shambling to the park...this pack includes 1 young mother, who is fat, bitter, has dirt all over her, and is wearing flip flops, a white tank top, and white capri pants...the pants were not supposed to be lycra and tight but she was big, so that is how they looked.

She had in each arm, a baby wearing just a diaper (gag) and trailing behind her, are two girls one small on slightly larger...both wearing bathing suits, and NO shoes (um, hello....this is the damn city), there was also a couple more children lollygagging behind.

She gets there and immediately plops the two diaper babies in the baby swings gives them each a lackluster push and then sits on a big kid swing and starts to smoke a cigarette...

big bathing suit girl goes to the tire swing, and little bathing suit girl is calling to the white clad beast that she wants to be pushed.

Little bathing suit: hey get over here and push me

Big Fat Mean Mom: I'm not pushing you bitch

Little Bathing Suit: I;m not the bitch, your the bitch.

Big Fat: no you're the bitch

Little bathing suit: no you!!!!

It was at this point that my bubs and I gave each other "the look" and we walked home...it was one of those moments that we thanked whatever powers that be that the mean cheese is deaf and special needs so she has no clue what just went on.

yuck.

So that was my Sunday...complete with a post mean cheese trip to the Barnes and Noble, as I was aching for a new magazine...luckily they had a new issue of Flair, a wonderful Italian fashion magazine with an English supplement so I can read the articles instead of just looking at the pictures, which I am known to do.

ok, so you are probably wondering what the pictures are at the top of this post...well my dears they are some of the images that are in my new....Button sets.

I am so excited, they are up and available in my shop as we speak, they made their little debut on Saturday night.

Can I tell you how geeked up I am about them....I seriously can hardly believe that they are mine, they came out so beautifully, and they look like candy....and we all know how much i like candy....

oh, and here is something, I am on a diet...yes loves it is that time of year (ok I should have started sooner) but I am really trying to watch what I eat, as my sweet tooth is killing me, well maybe not killing me but making me larger than I should be...

so no more eating cheesecake and ice cream for dinner...sigh, I know I am going to miss it too, I really am.

ok, and one last bit of news before I end this long and rambling post....here is the link to Carla's photos she took of my art that is hanging at Scribbles

ok, tomorrow I will really and truly post my nominations for the Thinking Blogger Award (I know you are all anxiously awaiting, lol....it's like the blog Oscars you know.

until tomorrow

xoxo

A Sudden Change Of Plans

good morning....

well my bubs and I were going to make the long trek to Scribbles today to see my show on it's opening day...but, die to a million and one things we are not going to be able to make it down today. He is still not feeling wonderful and I really didn't want to have us both be in the hot car for hours there and back again. I also found out that Carla (the wonderful) could not be there...so....I thought it best if we stay home and go down another day.

Carla will be sending me photos of the work once they are finished hanging it today, and I will definitely share with all of you.

Oh, and thank you all so very much on your congrats to me yesterday, it was really wonderful. Even my bubs was telling me he is going to surprise me with a little "Happy 1000" present, which I believe is going to be Project Runway Season 1 on dvd.

so, who has hot plans this weekend? Anyone?

We will be getting the mean cheese this weekend, so I will be flitting around here for most of the time.

Mt wonderful across the ocean friend Gillian has nominated me for the "Thinking Bloggers Award", and I am supposed to nominate 5 more people, but I am going to wait until Monday for that, this way I can really think about who I am going to nominate and why.

Other than that I really don't have too much today, I have been working and working like crazy and I have a batch of new pieces to add to the shop today, one of them being the 2 piece set I am showing today, also next week I will be listing Button Sets (that I am so excited about).

They will be available later on, they are both 9x12 on canvas panel and the set is called "A Girl Names Briar Rose"

ok, will probably be popping back in this weekend with photos of my work hanging at Scribbles.

Until then.....have a wonderful weekend.

xoxo

I Belive I Am Coming Back From The Dead

Good Morning everyone

thank you all for well wishes and the like, you will all be happy to know I am feeling much better today, in fact yesterday all I did was nap all day, as I was so hoping to go out last night...(I know I know, I should have been resting, but hear me out).

So yesterday my Bubs and I had this conversation.

me: are you playing at the Treehouse tonight

bubs: no, I am going to see Downtrodn over at Skully's

me: they're playing at Skully's, that's awesome

bubs: too bad you're not going

me: I'm going

bubs: no, you're sick, I'm going, you're resting.

me- no.....I;m going.

bubs: it's too bad you can't come with with me "BanAndrew Dice Clay" is opening

me: I have no idea what that is

bubs: well, it's a guy wearing a banana costume and a leather jacket doing stand up comedy.

me- wait, does he smoke a cigar?

bubs: I'm not sure, why does it matter

me: it doesn't...I am going by the way.

bubs: no you're not

This conversation went on for most of the day, periodically I would sort of justy burst out with, "But Bubsie, it's BanAndrew Dice Clay...I NEED to see it"

in short, I ended up going, and franky BanAndrew Dice Clay....not very funny. I sort of pictured him doing for Banana suits what Eddie Izzard did for Cross dressing...but no, he was just a drunk guy in a banana suit telling bad fruit pun/sex jokes...the highlight of his performance was when a drunk girl walked in halfway through, and said in this wonderful bimbo voice...

dumb girl: oh, is that guy like in a banana suit

Banadrew Dice Clay: Oh, is that girl is a dumb slut suit

(crowd finally laughs)

Other than that the night was still fun, Downtrodn was awesome, then again they always are.

So that was my night, besides that all I have been doing is resting and I did manage to do a few pieces including this one shown today titled "My Mask Keeps Changing", I originally was not going to list it in my shop, I was just going to send it off for my show at Scribbles, but I love it so much I just had to list it.

Speaking of my show, in the next couple days I will be taking the majority of my paintings out of my shop and shipping them off for the show, so...now is the time, if there is anything you cannot live without you have to tell me, I will hold things for you if you are really going to buy something.

ok, enough of my babble, must either do some work or go back to bed...

Yesterday

oh, yesterday did not turn out as planned...not one bit.

actually strike that, the day started off ok, woke up, blogged my favorite blog of the week, I love celebrity letter day...I just do.

I personally think it's hilarious and I love reading all of your letters too, thanks to everyone who reads and snarks with me...after all it is a joke, right?

you do get that it's a joke? I am not intentionally "judging" people, or maybe I am, either way it's still funny to me.

moving on.......

yesterday was a total cluster...we got an early moring call on our cell phone that the new owners of the comic shop were both sick....it is really a fluke that I even received this message as I never have the sell phone on and it is only used in emergencies. Considering I am a shut in....I can be reached at home 90% of the time.

SO anyway I get the call and then it's off to the races, usually my bubs helps them in the morning before going back to work, as Wednesdays are the busy day when all the new comics come in...but yesterday it was the two of us at the comic shop again, kickin it old school.

Luckily we were able to do this, as there would have been a lot of VERY unhappy people not getting their comics.

It was fun, sort of, well it was fun to see the customers who were just over the moon with excitement that we were both there, so that was nice...though working close to 10 hours for no money....not so nice.

I did get to read all the comics off the shelf and eat pizza in the shop, so that sort of made up for it.

Though I did lose a day of artsy type work, which sort of gets me tense. You see I am trying to get a selection of work together because the awesome Carla has asked me to have a month long show at her bookstore/coffee shop, Scribbles.

The showing opens June 1st at their gallery hop and lasts all month.

I have never been there so my bubs and I are going to try and switch the mean cheese weekends so we can go down for the opening, it will be my first Solo Show, so wow....that makes me seem all sorts of grown up, doesn't it?

so that is what I have been doing to keep myself busy, making lots of paintings for my etsy shop/show...as whatever does not sell on etsy before the last week of this month, will be shipped away for the show.

ok, now one more shamelessly promoting thing (I hate to sound so "me, me, me") my super cool friend Cat, or as some of you know her...artsy has nominated me for the Best Shopping Blog on the Bloggers Choice awards...

so, if you have a minute and care to place some votes...that would be very awesome.

http://www.bloggerschoiceawards.com/blogs/show/13750

the pictures I am showing today are a few newer things, I have an art card set, that I just loved doing...the colors are a lot more delicate in person...I know the screen is not doing them justice, also showing is a large 12x16 inch collage called Stranger, Stranger, Take Away Your Riddle

thank you all for reading the jibber jabber of today, must get to reading some blogs and then to work, work, work...
