Happy Groundhog Day!!!

I heart Bill Murray...as you all know, so in celebration of this day of days...I will be watching Groundhog Day in the background while I paint.

I am hoping that I can actually continue to paint while watching...actually scratch that, I will probably use that time to package up the many little bits and bits I have to be mailed out. I have had a very nice few days at my etsy shop, thanks in big part to all of you , I don't want to name names but I have been so very pleasantly surprised every time I get the message from etsy that something has sold.

ok...now onto the burning question on everyone's mind..."what is the deal with mousey mouserson?"

um....he's still in hiding, he has not poked his pinchy face out since the attack the other night, our traps are set with peanut butter, which he should not be able to resist, but he has...little bastard.

But, you will all be proud of me, I have determined not to let that mouse get the better of me, I worked in my space yesterday, with out fear.

ok, there was some fear, but I had all the lights on and periodically I made loud banging noises and let out a yell to scare mousey m. away just in case.

I was glad I was able to work though it, because I got to finally finish my creative challenge item, this week was a color challenge, I chose canary yellow, as I so rarely have a dominate yellow piece.

It is called "Sometimes People Stay", I have to say, through talking with miss recy, I was inspired to do this painting which is based very much on my feelings about when I came out here to visit my bf, and then just stayed....

that is a long story unto itself, needless to say some of you know it already, and those of you who have read my comic know the beginning of it at least...

but that is a tale for another day.

Oh...I did get to work on a finish a beautiful little art card as well I have not photographed it yet, but it features a beautiful photo of a young Beatrix Potter...( I want to see Miss Potter so badly). I have not taken the photos of it yet or put the piece in the case, but it should be debuting in my etsy shop at about 11:00am EST

(revised...the card is now listed in my shop, "The Lovely Miss Potter")

Oh and before I forget I want to thank the wonderful Michelle Caplan who wrote about me in her Creative Swoon blog, every time I am mentioned in a blog I just flip, I think it is so wonderful, but when Michelle mentioned me, well....that was just so cool.

Michelle is a constant source of inspiration for me, and one of the artists I just really, really, really admire their work. So please head on over to Creative Swoon and see the amazing little review.

So anyone have any delicious plans for the weekend? My bubs and I (and I believe our friend Clemencia) are all going to be going to see a friend of bubs' band play....they are a "new metal" band which is not really my thing, to say the least, but i love going out and people watching, and I love my bubs, so it will be fun. Plus, I just really admire anyone who devotes time and energy into something they are passionate about, whether it be music or something else...I just love that, it sort of gives me the feeling of little goosebumps all over.

wow, I have been rambling on and on and I still have not yet talked about the Corset Project yet, hmmm, maybe I will wait for another time on that, as now I am just itching to get my hand all painty and get to work.

Hey Jenn! Love your new piece for the creative challenge. Am just waiting on mine drying so I can photgraph it - a new item for me and I can't wait to get it in my shop!

I did write you a (long) convo yesterday about the 'corset project' but either my laptop or my brain was wired wrong as I had an unlucky and periodically frustrating computer day yesterday (emails that wouldn't send, pages that kept timing out ect) so I don't think it even got to you. Convoing you later! Can't wait to chat about it.

Gill- I never got it, but there were convo issues yesterday as a buyer told me she tried to convo three times and it timed out before it ever sent everytime.

I am telling you unrelated sis, you have to trust!! Some mice do not buy into the Peanut Butter. Mine did not. Mine did not care at all for the peanut butter. The peanut butter fossilized it sat there so long! Maybe he is a nice mouse? Maybe he should stay and live?

Good morning, dear!

The new piece is just gorgeous and I had to heart it. I need to sit tight on my pocketbook for awhile now or I would buy it since, as you know, it speaks to me too. But, I can admire it until someone snatches it away. It is so very nicely done. Beautiful work, as always.

I also greatly admire anyone who devotes time and energy to something they are passionate about... YOU included! Your dedication to your art is a great source of inspiration to me.

Have a great weekend and have fun at the show tonight!

xoxo... Karen Beth :)
