The final sprint
morning.
so, first, I really need to thank each and every one of you for being so kind about my semi meltdown on Friday, it really meant a lot that you were all so understanding. I have to say it did make me feel better knowing that I could in fact connect with people over this huge internet and that some people would understand.
thank you.... I know it seemed melodramatic but you see, I was feeling low anyway, and then I noticed my rating on my trunkt profile went down, which means someone rated me low...and then I started to obsess and well...you saw the rest of it.
so.....it is Monday (obviously) and Craftin Outlaws is Saturday, and Kate gets here on Friday...and I am now, not even close to being "ready"....though that being said, I am not quite sure what "ready" really means, I just know I am not there yet.
That being the case, I might be a very bad blog friend and blogger this week. I may not update, though I am surely going to try. I may not be commenting on all your blogs, though I will most likely still get a chance to read them while paint is drying.
so bear with me...please (note the pathetic neediness).
ok so now on to something different. On Friday before we picked up the mean cheese we headed to the PO so I could check my mail, and in it were wonderful treasures. My friend Jody is wonderful, not only is she my magazine connection, she always goes above and beyond, I was expecting in the box of goodies my September Issue of Vogue Nippon as well as a couple other back issues and the September British Vogue...but she also through in....the one and only Alex Richard's book....Back Talk!!!!!
OMG I have been dying actually dying to get her book but money, and time have been a problem, plus getting to Barnes and Noble is a headache, especially when there is a used bookstore across the street from my house, anyway, I digress.
Back Talk is amazingly fun, in my head, they are already going to make it into a movie, it would be the perfect movie for Anne Hathaway to gain a little weight and play the role of Gemma....but alas, she is too old and way too Jane Austen for it now.
Anyway, you all have to get the book and relish in it's delicious characters.
I will give a full critique once I am finished the book.
Jody also sent another book called Model Student....I have not read it but come on, it's about a smart girl who is also a model...=fan-fucking0tastic.
(ooops, sorry for the swearing)
The other lovely surprise I got in the mail was a movie from my friend Tara, it was not just any old movie, it was "The Adventured of Ace Proton", a movie made by her husband.
It was a brilliant homage to the old sci fi serials, I was more impressed that I really thought I would have been, I knew it would be good, but the details the little wonderful details made it clear that the film was made by someone who loved the genre.
now....I am not sure where you can get this movie, or if you can....so this is my plea...Tara, I think you should sell copies of the movie in your etsy shop, the world should see this, it's brilliant.
ok with that, I am going to leave you, I must start a marathon of packaging things so I can get my butt to the post office and then back here to paint until it's time to go to sleep.
the good news is I am working on an altered art book, which is really pretty cool, and I am going to try (stress try) to make jigsaw puzzles....oh and more block sets, lots more blogs sets.

No such thing as "pathetic neediness." Good luck at the show... You'll do fine.
Good luck with your weeks preps Jenn - you will be fine!! I adore the colours in your new blocks.
I just can't get to grips with trunkt atall. My rating went down too but as I don't understand the rating (or most anything else there) I have been determined to not let it bother me!!
Will miss you! xxx
Sending good luck your way for Saturday! Don't worry, we'll all still be here when you get back! Lol!
Can't wait to see some of the new art projects you are proposing!
We all have these moments, it's great knowing how many love and support you through your down time
Last week was a hard one anyway! I sat at the shop practically all alone all week (well, the 4 days I was there anyway) And, I started in the same loop of "OH NO!!!" and I've been doing the shop for 12 years...you think I'd be used to the slow parts too...
I think it's a totally different thing when you put yourself out in the world creatively...it takes a totally different kind of courage...
And you are amazing at what you do! Just remember that (no matter what one person may say now and then!)
catching up on your latest blog posts! I see I have missed alot since last week!!
hope you are feeling better, that silly inner critic, she can be a bitch sometimes...yes?!
Girl you are an amazing artist, I drool everytime I see your newest creations, wish I could buy them all~ don't worry yourself...you have grand talent~
xo!! ~Bella
Tooo fun!! Oh, I will keep sending vibes.. Just remember, at some point, you can't do anymore for a show, and you have to just make what youhave work to the best of your ability... I know, I get all crazy and nothig is ever enough, then I don't organize well and after I get sick and depressed.... So, Work efficintly and positively as I am sure you will!!! Don't stress, it will be wonderful!!! xoxox
Wonderful work Jenn!

you are such an amazing artist, fuck the critics. I think they hated the movie Gia and I could watch on repeat until my death. Glad you love the books, get to work and good luck with the show, do a shot for me.

I can't tell you how happy I am that you like Back Talk.
I also can't tell you how embarrassed I am that I didn't respond to this when you wrote it!!!! I've been really hectic this month with family issues (that I don't want to bore anyone in blogtopia with), but it means a lot to me that you're reading it--and even more that you are enjoying it!!!
Thanks Jenn!
ps-In my Back Talk frenzy, I forgot to respond to the rest of the post. But here's what I think: You are a truly amazing talent. I have the piece Andy bought me of yours in the kitchen, and every time I'm cooking, I get to appreciate it's loveliness! Thank you for that.
