Good Morning!!!

I could not think of a snazzy title, so....there you have it, we're at post #146.

I am pretty proud of myself for not giving up the old blog here, especially during the long and lonely months of no comments and no readers, this sure are a lot more lively and fun filled now though, and I have all you to thank for breathing a little life into me.

See, I think of all of you not only as my friends, but as ae group of co-workers that all hand out together and gossip...like in the movie Clockwatchers

anyway, this blog will be all over the place and a ramble fest today as I have no coherent "theme".

I have been very, very, very, distracted lately with an almost consuming need for new clothes. None of my clothes really fit me any more. I have not been on a really good shopping spree since I moved here, almost 3 years ago. Sure I bought a piece here and there, but not a ton of stuff. And considering when I moved here I was a hell of a lot smaller than I am now, due to the fact that I obsessively worked out and ate only "luna bars"...that might have something to do with it.

I think my new spring fever has something to do with the fact that I am longing for some new clothes, that and my upcoming trip to scenic Pittsburgh at the end of April. You see, I will be going to the Pittsburgh Comic Convention, and setting up in the artist alley section. I NEED new clothes for that. As one of the few women at the conventions, well, you have to maintain a certain level of cute, or else the comic geeks won;t even stop at your table....

I say this with a lot of love and no disrespect for the nerd herds that attend the conventions, as you all must know, I am one of them too...

My big dilemma is somehow getting the money to go on a little spree...that is where the problem is.

I would go thrifting to save money, but the thift stores close to me are just filled with garbage and clothes from strippers...which isn't really the look I want to go for, frankly at the ripe old age of 31 I can't really pull of that cute/slutty look anymore, now I have to go more with the sophisticated geek chic look, which really I am fine with.

Also, fashiony question.......Does anyone know if there is any truth to the rumor that Zac Posen is going to be doing a line of clothes that are more affordable for the mass market???

I can't remember if I read that someplace or if it was just a dream I had, and yes...I do have dreams like that.

oh, if you all get a chance, you need to check out my etsy shop I gave it a whole new look with a new banner and avatar to match, I am sort of freaked out by change, so this is actually a huge step for me.

So yesterday I got almost everything done I needed to, and even got a chance to list a new art card set...which I love and actually was what inspired me to make the new banner for my shop, as well as a new set of blocks.

Oh I need to thank Rebecca for buying the James Dean Collage that I listed yesterday...it was a wonderful surprise and a much needed moment for me, as I am having one of those weeks where I am filled with a bit of panic and self doubt, thinking that I am crazy for doing this full time artist thing....but then something happens and I am reassured for a minute. So thank you Rebecca, you gave me that moment yesterday.

I included a picture today of the amazing corset that Gillian made using the collage I did...It is probably one of the most wonderful things I have ever seen!!!!

until tomorrow. (Fan Mail Wednesday!!!!!!! Everyone get your thinking caps on)

xoxoxo

lol. I like the title.

I think I read that about Zac Posen too. Won't that be a dream come true?!

Love the corset. Somebody tell Gillian to make more beautiful corsets and list them on Etsy. Your collaboration with her turned out to be truly beautiful and awe inspiring.

Love love love the new banner and avatar (not that I didn't like the old ones! LOL!)

The corset is totally amazing!

Clothing shopping is the pits for me--I haven't seen anything I really liked & had to have in awhile. Good Luck!

Seriously, that corset is also the most fab thing I have ever seen. I would look like Miss Piggy in a corset but I can admire it all the same. Wow. Really great job for BOTH of you!

I meant to congratulate you yesterday on your #145 post and your nearing 800 sales. Wahoo! You rock! That is awesome!

I had mistaken the days and had my celeb letter all planned out for today. Sigh... I'll keep it under my hat for tomorrow though. Let's just HOPE that I remember it. Ha!

Shopping would be nice. Girl, you need to get down here and thrift shop with ME! We have all sorts of cheap and GOOD places to go. Fun times.

xo,

Karen Beth :)

Jenn, I know it sounds ghetto but I actually like some of the clothes they have at Target. You can get some cute, cheap accent things there.

Jenn, those new art cubes and aceo's are gorgeous!! I wish I could think of some new words to use when commenting on folks art as I always say the same thing LOL but it comes from the heart!!

Well the corset looks very at home here doesn't it!! I would love to collaborate with you again sometime!

Have a wonderful day. (After not participating in the celebrity letter blog post for weeks I have been frantically thinking of one for tomorrow - can't wait!)

Oh my stars and garters!!!!(and I guess garters would be quite the appropriate accesory)!!!!! That corset is a thing of rare beauty!!!!!!!Love it,love the blox!Okay ,heres my shopping 2 cents. If there is indeed nothing in the thrifts, try Marshalls or TJ Maxx for basic pieces, and go to the vintage store for some cutie perks. Also,I really hate to admit this, but maybe once a year or so Hot Topic(I admit this only for you Jen),will have something amazing, that when styled with something conservative, really makes a statement!Ofcourse F21,also has some goodies for not much money.

Love, Love, Love it all!

Do you have an H&M? I think th dress Madonna is wearing in the ad for her new line looks pretty chic and flattering. Of course that is on Madonna's rock hard body.

Jody...yeah, I have a feeling that dress would not be quite so hot on me!!!

I think my spree will include Target, Forever 21, and Arden B...oh, and Macy's as I have a gift card there.

It will also I'm sure involve some Limited based store like Express, I live in the City that Limited is based on and you can't go anywhere without seeing a huge Victoria's Secret, plus my bubs works like 20 seconds away from Limited Corp.
